Technical and trades trainingPlan the week around the rigs and the assessor.
Each course date carries its venue, its instructor and a place limit you set to the benches you have. Once the bay is full, people join a waitlist. Cademy runs the calendar, the bookings and the online theory for technical and trades training centers: electrical installation and inspection, F-Gas and refrigeration, heating and heat pumps, EV charging, drilling, vehicle electrics and manufacturer product courses.
Engineers cover the theory online before they arrive, so the workshop days go on bending pipe and wiring boards.
Who is in which workshop this week.
Every date sits on one calendar with its venue and instructor. Group it by location to see what each workshop has on, or by person to look at one assessor’s week before you add another assessment day. The four-day F-Gas course runs Monday to Thursday in the refrigeration bay, and the count on each date tells you how many benches are still free.
Places
- A place limit on each date, matched to your benches, rigs or test boards
- Places left shown on your booking page
- A waitlist, emailed first come, first served when a bench frees up
Instructors and assessors
- An email when they get a date, and another if it moves
- Their own dates in Cademy, and in Google or Outlook once they connect it
- Busy times read from that calendar, so you can see who is free
- How scheduling works
Save each workshop, bay or rig hall as a venue and give every course its default, so a new F-Gas date lands in the refrigeration bay without anyone picking it. When a firm wants the course at its own depot, that date gets a one-off address.
Engineers arrive with the theory done.
Bench time is the expensive part of the course, so keep it for the practical. A blended course holds the on-demand lessons and the workshop dates together. Put the regulations and the sizing calculations into lessons, add a quiz with a pass mark, and let the quiz open the next lesson when it is passed.

On-Demand + Live60% CompleteBooking opens the lessons
Once the place is booked, the online part is waiting in the engineer’s account: video lessons, reading, and downloads such as wiring diagrams or an installation manual.
A quiz before the bench
Set a pass mark and allow retakes. Passing it opens the next lesson. Anyone who misses a lesson deadline gets a reminder email.
The workshop days
Reminder emails went out before the date. On each day the instructor takes the register.
The certificate
Issued when the online part is complete and the engineer is marked attended, then emailed to them. Give it an expiry date if the qualification has one.
E-learning you already have as a SCORM 1.2 package can sit in the same course, on Teams. SCORM in Cademy covers how it works.
The service manager books, the engineers turn up.
When a heating firm sends three engineers on F-Gas, one person books and pays. They buy the places, add names once the job rota is settled, and swap an engineer out if a job overruns. From their own account they can see who has finished the online theory and who has not opened it yet.

Contractors booking site crews onto safety courses have their own page: construction training.
The dates a technical center sells.
MJ Electrical Training and the British Gear Association both run courses on Cademy. Each of these is a course you build once, then schedule as often as the bays allow.
Multi-day course
Three days of 18th Edition or four of F-Gas, held as one block on the calendar. Reminder emails go out before the first morning, and the date carries its own attendance register.
Practical assessment day
Sold as its own date for candidates who trained elsewhere, or set as the last day of a blended course. The assessor takes the register and the certificate follows attendance.
CertificatesRefresher and update
When the wiring regulations are amended or a certificate nears its expiry date, past learners come back for a shorter course. Sort registrations by expiry to find them and offer them a discount.
Manufacturer training
Product courses for installers on a new boiler, heat pump or charger range, free or paid. A private date for one merchant’s customers stays off your public list, from Pro.
Open day
A free open evening for people thinking of retraining as an electrician or heating engineer. They register as they would for any course and get the same reminder emails.
For an association running courses for its members, see professional bodies.
Rigs, assessors and multi-day courses.
Can I cap a date at the number of rigs we have?
Yes. Set the number of places on each date. When the date fills, it stays on your booking page with its waitlist open. If an engineer drops out, Cademy works through the waitlist in order, by email.
Can engineers do the theory online before the practical days?
Yes. Build a blended course with on-demand lessons and a quiz first, then the workshop dates. A passed quiz can open the next lesson, anyone behind a lesson deadline is sent a reminder, and the certificate is issued once the online part is complete and the engineer has been marked attended.
How do instructors and assessors keep track of their dates?
Each gets an email on being given a date, and another if it moves. With their own login they see their dates in Cademy, and if they connect Google or Outlook the dates appear there too. Cademy reads their busy times, so you can check who is free before you give them the assessment day. Free has room for 2 trainers or assessors, Pro 10 and Teams 50.
Can one course run over several days in the workshop?
Yes. Block a date across the days it runs, such as three days of 18th Edition or four of F-Gas, and it shows on the calendar for each of those days with its instructor and venue. Engineers book one place for the whole course.
Do free product courses or open evenings cost anything to run?
On the Free plan the 5% platform fee is charged only when someone pays through Cademy checkout, so free places cost nothing. Free allows up to 5 published courses and 1,000 registrations each year. Pro costs £99 ($129) a month on yearly billing, drops the platform fee and adds private courses for a single merchant or distributor.
