Charities and communityVolunteer training and public workshops, on the Free plan.
Most of the training a charity, parish, club or community group runs is free to the people who come: volunteer inductions, safeguarding refreshers, taster sessions. A part-time admin can run it on Cademy’s Free plan, which takes 5% only when someone pays through Cademy checkout. Pro drops that fee once paid workshops make £99 a month worth spending.
What £0 a month gets a charity.
No card and no time limit. The limits are the same as on the pricing page, set beside Pro for when the paid side grows.
Free
For volunteer training, free events and a few paid workshops a year.
- Booking, the LMS, the CRM, scheduling and the course builder
- 5% platform fee on payments through Cademy checkout. Stripe, PayPal or Klarna fees are separate
- Reminder emails and certificates of attendance
- Imports of your contacts, courses and dates from a spreadsheet
Pro
For a program that sells every month, or training that must stay off the public list.
- No platform fee
- Private courses for volunteers and staff only
- Pay by invoice, for a school, council or partner charity
- Your own certificate design, plus CPD points and hours
- Your logo and colors, with Cademy logos hidden
£1,980 a month in paid bookings.
At that figure, 5% of payments through Cademy checkout comes to £99, the monthly price of Pro billed yearly. Below it, Free costs less. Stripe, PayPal or Klarna charge their own fees whichever plan you are on.
Pro keeps the same 1,000 registrations a year. Teams raises that to 5,000, with five admin users, for £499 ($649) a month billed yearly.
A free session still needs a register.
Inductions, safeguarding refreshers, befriender training, food hygiene for the kitchen team. Most of it costs the learner nothing, and somebody still has to know who came and when they are due again.

Set the price to free, choose the hall or an online date, and cap the places. Cademy creates the Zoom meeting when the date is online. Volunteers book from your website or your Cademy booking site like anyone else, and get reminder emails before each date. The trainers you add as facilitators see their own dates.
On the day, tick the register. Everyone marked attended gets a certificate of attendance by email. If your policy sets a refresher, give the certificate an expiry date and sort registrations by it when you plan next year’s dates.
Private courses, from Pro, keep volunteer-only training off your public list. Read more about certificates, the reminder emails and cutting no-shows.
The paid side of a community program.
Ticketed talks, craft workshops and family days often pay for the free work around them. People pay by card, PayPal or Klarna, and the money lands in your own Stripe or PayPal account.

Cademy’s been great for our charity, helping us keep on top of scheduling, tracking progress, and organising staff without any hassle.

Is the Free plan a trial?
No. It runs for as long as you like, with no card on file. The allowance is 1 admin user, 2 facilitators, 5 courses live at a time and up to 1,000 registrations in a year.
Do you take a fee on free places?
No. The 5% platform fee on the Free plan is charged only on money paid through Cademy checkout, so a free induction or a free taster session carries no fee. On paid bookings, Stripe, PayPal or Klarna also charge their own fees, on every plan.
When does Pro make sense for a charity?
Past the £1,980 line above, or when volunteer training must be private, a school or council wants to pay by invoice, or you need more than 2 facilitators or 5 published courses.
Can members pay less than the public?
Yes. Sell a membership and give members a discount on workshops. Discount codes cover concessions, and vouchers and gift cards are redeemed at checkout.
Put next month’s volunteer induction on Cademy.
Set up one free course, send the link to your volunteers and watch the register fill. Move to Pro when the paid workshops make the sums work.
No card, and courses stay hidden until you switch them on.
