Signs you need more than an online academy

Common in classroom training, and covered by Cademy.

LearnWorlds describes self-paced courses, live video sessions and seats sold to companies.

  1. 1

Your courses run on set dates, at a venue, with a named trainer.

Every date sits on one calendar with its venue and trainer, in month, week, timeline or list view. Trainers see their own dates, and the calendar syncs with Google or Outlook.

  2. 2

Attendance on the day decides who gets a certificate.

Mark learners attended on the register and the certificate is issued and emailed. On a blended course it waits for the online part as well.

  3. 3

Certificates expire, and you keep a spreadsheet of who expires when.

Give a course's certificates an expiry date, and registrations sort and export by it.

  4. 4

A company wants an invoice with its purchase order number on it.

From Pro, the booker can pay by invoice and enter a PO number at checkout, which prints on the invoice. Teams passes it to Xero.

  5. 5

You chase people with reminder emails before each session.

Each course sends reminders a week, a day and an hour before, plus a follow-up the day after. You can write your own templates.

Questions

Before leaving LearnWorlds.

Can LearnWorlds run in-person courses?

Its site describes live sessions on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex, and does not mention classroom dates or venues. A Cademy course can run in person, live online, on demand, blended or on request.

What comes with a Cademy plan?

Every plan includes course booking, scheduling, the training CRM and the LMS. Pro, at £99 ($129) a month billed yearly, adds pay by invoice with a PO number, custom certificate templates and CPD points, with no platform fee. Teams adds Xero and SCORM 1.2.

Can I move my learners from LearnWorlds to Cademy?

Yes. LearnWorlds' help center explains how to export a users report, and you can import your contacts, organizations, courses and registrations into Cademy on any plan. On Teams we help with the migration, and on Enterprise our team takes it on for you.

Can a company book places and send the names later?

Yes. Once the booker has bought the places, they add or remove attendees and track each person's progress and certificates. From Pro they can pay by invoice.
