Silver Clay Jewellery Workshop – Evening Taster

Description

On this evening class you will have the opportunity to make a piece of jewellery from silver clay. Silver clay is relatively new to the world of jewellery making, introduced by Mitsubishi in the early 90’s. It is made from tiny particles of reclaimed and recycled silver which are mixed with a non toxic organic binder.

The clay can be rolled, textured, moulded and carved. During firing, the binder burns away and the silver particles sinter so you are left with a beautiful piece of solid silver. There are so many possibilities to create some beautiful jewellery.

In your class you will learn some of the basic techniques needed to create silver clay jewellery and shown how to use the required tools in the workshop.

- Designed for beginners - you need no previous experience or skill!

- Small class numbers so you get plenty of tutor time (5 people max).

- The class starts at 6pm and ends at 9pm.

- Most people make a pair of earrings or a pendant.

- The Jewellery Business is located in Sheffield City Centre and is a fully equipped jewellery studio.

The class fees includes materials (5g silver clay, and either a chain for a pendant or some ear wires for earrings), if you wish to make more on the day you can purchase extras in the class.
