Join us for a fun and eco-friendly event where you can learn to create a sustainable Sketchbook/Notebook from recycled Packing Paper. 

While thinking about ways to be more resourceful and finding solutions to live a more sustainable life, have you ever thought of creating a notebook or sketchbook out of papers that you would normally put into the recycling? 

In this relaxed workshop, in the beautiful Garden Room of The Salutation Inn, you'll learn how to create and bind a unique sketchbook/notebook using packaging paper, paper bags, tissue and wrapping paper.

Creating a notebook or sketchbook using papers used as part of packaging (you know, the brown crunched up paper, that protects the items you've purchased from a certain big company!) can help you get over the blank or white sheet of paper freeze, whenever you want to just start writing or sketching. In addition, you'll have created a unique hand bound notebook from materials that you would otherwise have put straight in the recycling.

Not only will you have created a beautiful notebook/sketchbook out of materials that were destined for the recycling, but you will also learn the basics of bookbinding, learning the 3 hole and 5 hole pamphlet stitch. This class is suitable for beginners. I will guide you through the process, providing tips and tricks along the way. 

Once you've bound your first notebook/sketchbook, you'll be hooked! Get creative and make your own unique sketchbook or notebook using recycled materials.

All tools and materials are included in this workshop, but feel free to bring along any papers that you would like to use in your hand bound notebook/sketchbook.
