Description

This is a perfect taster workshop for anyone who’s always wanted to try watercolour painting but have been too nervous to! It’s also great for those with a small amount of experience to practice looser painting styles and build confidence.

The aim of this ‘Exploring Watercolours’ class is to have FUN, and to get past the anxiety many people experience when approaching watercolour painting! It’s simply the best way to learn and discover new creative outlets and techniques, without stressing over the outcome.

We’ll be exploring how to use a basic set of colours and see the way they blend and harmonise on paper, along with using some more unusual tools to create fascinating effects.

You’ll have the opportunity to try some different brushes, and to see the way they can add texture and diversity to your painting, while minimising the work required to achieve this!

There will be a selection of simple, and enjoyable, exercises - guided at all times by Helen - to offer you a great basis in exploring watercolour painting, which you may want to explore further on your own, or in other classes at later dates.

This is not the type of class for those with more advanced watercolour skills, or those wishing to learn how to draw/paint landscapes or ‘formal’ types of work.

All materials are included in the session.
