MiDAS is the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme, organised by the Community Transport Association UK (CTA) which promotes a nationally recognised standard for the assessment and training of minibus drivers.
The course is designed to enhance minibus driving standards and promote the safer operation of minibuses.

skills that can transfer to driving a car
There are two types of MiDAS courses we can offer:
Standard Driving
Accessible Driving
Clients often commission us to conduct both courses back to back.
MiDAS Standard Driving course is suitable for anyone who holds a valid licence to drive a minibus (Category D1) or bus (Category D).
The course syllabus includes:
scenarios
passenger comfort
dealing with road traffic collisions
Highway Code
There is a written examination comprising multiple choice questions and a driving test element to be completed and passed as part of this course.
Course duration is 1 day.
The course syllabus includes:
passenger safety
how to assist passengers who have:sight losswalking difficulties
supervising and assisting wheelchair users
how to safely operate a passenger lift or ramp
how to properly secure wheelchair users in a bus
There is a requirement to pass both theory and practical tests as part of this course.
Course duration is 1 day.
A MiDAS handbook is issued to assist both during and following training.
Training can be delivered at our facility or at client premises with up to six being trained at one time.
On successful completion, candidates receive a certificate which is valid for 4 years.
