Construction Safety Awareness Course is equal to the QCF Level 1 Award in Health and Safety for Construction. This means labourers who complete the NPORS Site Safety Awareness Course and pass the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment Operatives touch screen test (visit this CITB "book a test "webpage for more information), can apply for the CSCS Green Labourer Card.
This course helps you spot potential hazards on-site and gives practical tips for staying safe, both for yourself and your team. It explains your safety responsibilities and those of your employer, along with what you can do if someone’s health and safety might be at risk.
Endorsed by Build UK, this course offers essential health and safety training for all site workers.
By the end of this course, you’ll understand why it’s so important to prevent accidents on-site and how health and safety laws apply to your work. You’ll see how your role fits into keeping the site safe for everyone.
You’ll also learn about risk assessments and method statements, which help you spot and handle hazards. The course will show you simple ways to work safely and how to ask for help when needed.
Finally, you’ll know how to report unsafe actions to help stop accidents before they happen. This knowledge will give you the tools to make safe choices and support a strong safety culture on-site.
This course lasts 7 hours, and certification is valid for 5 years upon completion. To maintain your certification, you will need to retake the course before the expiration date.
The government’s strategy for construction aims to create a single logo for all card schemes. To support this goal, the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) has awarded the CSCS logo as the standard.
The NPORS Construction Operator Card meets the CLC requirements and displays the CSCS logo.
