STARS is designed to assist you in understanding your responsibilities as an employee, covering the legal basis of the required training of staff selling or serving alcohol under the Licensing Scotland Act 2005. The training covers the mandatory 2 hours for staff responsible for selling and serving alcohol in Scotland.
Scottish Training for Alcohol Retailers and Servers Course (STARS) e-learning course meets the requirements of The Licensing (Scotland) Regulations 2007, which states that every person who is involved in the making of alcohol sales must receive ‘relevant training’. This e-learning course covers the topics and matters specified in the regulation and meets the required 2 hours’ duration time.
Upon completion, the learner and an existing Personal Licence Holder must both sign the training record certificate and retain a copy.

9. Licensed hours under Part 5 of the Act
10.Offences under the Act, particularly those involving persons under the age of 18
