On-Demand course
1 hour 50 minutes
Advanced level
In this on-demand Masterclass, you will learn how to work the passementerie button-making technique known as “Grappé”.
This technique, also known as netting, is, in reality, a detached blanket stitch.
You will learn how to work 6 different techniques seen on buttons: the anchored method, the basic star and the woven star, working with no decreases, working with decreases, and pattern grappé.
You should be familiar with thread button making, in particular, thread wrapping (death's head, 6 point wrap) designs, and covering a mould with fabric or thread, before taking this Masterclass. The resources section will have reminder videos for these techniques, and the main course will show how to work a star with woven points.
You will have access to this Masterclass for 180 days (6 months) from the date of purchase.
