Have you noticed how automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are becoming more common in public places and workplaces? It’s no coincidence – having an AED available can dramatically increase the survival rate for someone suffering a cardiac arrest, especially when there are qualified personnel ready to use it.
That’s where this course comes in. This qualification is perfect for anyone who has a responsibility at work or is involved in voluntary and community activities where they might have access to an AED. Our experienced healthcare professionals, who are currently practicing in the pre-hospital field, will guide you through everything you need to know.
You’ll gain the knowledge and practical skills to recognise and treat both adults and children who have suffered cardiac arrest. Plus, you’ll learn how to respond quickly, calmly, and confidently in these critical situations. And it doesn’t stop there – our course also covers how to handle choking incidents.
This qualification is regulated in the UK and awarded by First Aid Awards (FAA), an organisation recognised by Ofqual and SQA Accreditation. It sits on both the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF). Rest assured, the qualification is delivered, assessed, and quality assured to the highest standards, adhering to the Assessment Principles for Regulated First Aid Qualifications and following the latest Resuscitation Council UK Guidelines.
