Confident Leadership Skills for Senior Carers and Team Leaders
2-Hour CHCT Leadership, Culture & Improvement Workshop
This practical 2-hour workshop is designed to help Senior Carers and Team Leaders develop the confidence, judgement, and professional presence needed to lead effectively in care settings.
Many people step into more senior roles because they are experienced and capable workers, but receive limited support in how to lead others, set expectations, handle pressure, and carry authority well.
This workshop focuses on the practical leadership skills that help delegates move from being a strong team member to being a confident and credible leader. It explores leadership presence, decision-making, accountability, communication, and how to lead fairly and consistently while maintaining positive working relationships.
Delegates will leave with a clearer sense of their leadership role and practical ways to strengthen their confidence in day-to-day practice.

Care Co-ordinators
Deputy Managers stepping into broader leadership duties
Experienced care staff preparing for senior responsibilities
Many Senior Carers and Team Leaders are promoted because they are good at care work, but are not always fully prepared for the leadership side of the role. This can lead to:
uncertainty about how to lead former peers
lack of confidence in giving direction or challenging poor practice
inconsistent authority from shift to shift
avoidance of difficult decisions
stress, self-doubt, and over-reliance on managers
This workshop helps delegates build the confidence and practical leadership understanding needed to step fully into their role.
By the end of the workshop, delegates will be better able to:
understand what confident leadership looks like in a care setting
recognise the difference between confidence, authority, and aggression
identify behaviours that increase leadership credibility and trust
take practical steps to lead staff more clearly, calmly, and consistently
