Since inheriting a piano from my mother in law 12 years ago and deciding to take the leap as an adult learner, I have undertaken lessons with Elaine. She has shown great patience (particularly with my singing for the grades) and nurtured me past my terrible nerves through 4 grade exams. Elaine is a hardworking and dedicated teacher. Her expertise ensured that I was prepared to the highest standard for each ABRSM exam allowing me to achieve a merit in my Grade 8. Her methods of teaching were always encouraging and even when addressing my weaker areas, such as the aural tests in the graded ABRSM exams, or certain sequences in the piece I was finding difficult, she was patient and understanding. Elaine is a brilliant teacher. I had lessons from her age 11-19. She nutured me from being a total beginner to post grade 8. She was always a source of great encouragement. She is very knowledgeable on music theory too and i was able to get a distiction at grade 5 theory thanks to her teaching. She was always very patient with me, and i really looked forward to going to my lessons. I will always be grateful to her for instilling in me the life long gift of playing the piano.

Elaine taught both my children successfully from the ages of six and seven and they stayed with her until taking their A levels. She inspired in them an enjoyment of music which will last always.I also have had lessons with Elaine and enjoyed them immensely.
