Course Details
The qualification deliberately looks at general workplace issues so that is can be applied in the many different sectors in which health and safety professionals may work.
On completion of the qualification, you will be able to:
understand how health and safety legislation is applied in a workplace and the possible enforcement actions that could be taken
identify and effectively communicate relevant health and safety information
advise on a range of common workplace health and safety issues including how these can be assessed, controlled and monitored
develop a health and safety policy strategy (including proactive safety, Corporate Social Responsibility and the change management process)
contribute to a risk management strategy
promote a positive health and safety culture
develop and audit health and safety management systems
maintain individual and organisational health and safety competence
manage contractors and supply chains to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Entry Requirements
It is strongly recommended by NEBOSH that learners have undertaken the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety before starting their diploma studies. The NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals syllabus assumes that all learners will have this level of prior learning.

Unit DN3 – Do – controlling workplace safety issues

Assessment
Each assessment is a substantial undertaking. NEBOSH anticipate that it will take you around 40 hours to complete the DN1 assignment and 20 hours each for the DN2 and DN3 case studies. The time-period given for you to complete each assessment reflects this:
Unit DN1: 4 weeks (20 working days)
Unit DN2: 2 weeks (10 working days)
Unit DN3: 2 weeks (10 working days)
There will be two opportunities every year to complete each assessment,
All assessments will be checked via Turnitin plagiarism software and learners will be required to have a closing interview after each assessment.
Course Programme
Block Release (Full Time) course – The total course is 6 x 1 week blocks, plus the assessments.
Unit DN1: 2 taught weeks + DN1 assignment
Unit DN2: 2 taught weeks + DN2 case study
Unit DN3: 2 taught weeks + DN3 case study
The total course duration can vary from 12 months to 60 months, depending on when you choose to study each unit. The average course duration is about 18 months.

The NEBOSH National Diploma course is comprised of the following three units:
Unit DN1: 2 taught weeks + DN1 assignment
Unit DN2: 2 taught weeks + DN2 case study
Unit DN3: 2 taught weeks + DN3 case study
The cost for each unit is £2,150.00 + VAT = £2,580.00 [per learner]
The price includes the course text books, additional notes, NEBOSH fees, light lunches and refreshments during the course.
