What does this traffic marshal course cover?
This traffic marshal course will give you the competence to confidently redirect and manage traffic. This banksman training will teach you all the basics of the general duties of a traffic marshal such as banksman signals that you will present to vehicle and crane operators. This course has been tailored to meet the legal requirements for organisations by following the standards and regulations set by the HSE. You will simply go through the learning material, completing short quizzes along the way.

What is a traffic marshal?
A traffic marshal is the designated person who is trained and competent in safely directing moving traffic in and around large building sites. They are trained to position themselves and in use banksman hand, signals to instruct large vehicles and load manoeuvres when the driver or the operator of the vehicle may have a restricted view.
Who can take this course?
As this traffic marshal course is online, anyone can do it from anywhere. Whether you’re in London, Birmingham or Wales, there will never be a point where you have to come to the training centre. If you have an interest in learning the trades of a banksman and traffic marshal, this traffic marshal course is for you.
On completion, what will you achieve?
On completion of the traffic marshal course, candidates will have a downloadable Traffic Marshal (CPD Awareness) certificate.
You will also get an Identity Card posted to your address proving your attendance, and showing your competence in Traffic Marshalling.
We recommend learners refresh their knowledge on a yearly basis to ensure candidates are aware of new regulations.
What else do you need to be a traffic marshal?
As well as knowledge and competence, traffic marshals working on construction sites will need a valid CSCS Green Card. To be eligible for the labourer’s card, workers must complete the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (1-day course) and pass a 45-minute CITB Touch Screen Test.
