Combat Stress Intensive EMDR Treatment Model for PTSD & Complex PTSD

Transforming Trauma Recovery Through an Evidence-Informed Intensive Treatment Approach

A Full-Day Advanced EMDR Workshop
Presented by Dr Jonathan Hutchins
EMDR Europe Accredited Trainer | Consultant Clinical Psychologist | Veterans Lead, EMDR UK Scientific and Research Committee

Why Intensive EMDR?

For many individuals living with PTSD and Complex PTSD, weekly therapy can feel slow, disruptive and difficult to access. Increasingly, intensive EMDR treatment models are demonstrating that delivering therapy over concentrated periods can achieve significant clinical improvements whilst reducing treatment duration, maintaining therapeutic momentum and improving accessibility for clients with complex trauma histories.

Drawing upon the internationally recognised Combat Stress intensive treatment programme, this workshop explores how intensive EMDR can be safely and effectively delivered to military veterans and civilians experiencing severe, chronic and complex trauma.

Whether you work in the NHS, private practice, charities, occupational health or specialist trauma services, this workshop will provide a practical framework for developing intensive EMDR programmes within your own clinical setting.

About the Trainer

Dr Jonathan Hutchins is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and EMDR Europe Accredited Trainer with over 15 years of experience working across NHS, military and specialist trauma services.

He serves as Veterans Lead for the EMDR UK Scientific and Research Committee and has extensive experience delivering EMDR for combat-related PTSD, moral injury, complex trauma and neuropsychological presentations. Dr Hutchins has contributed to national research initiatives exploring intensive EMDR and innovative models of trauma care and is widely recognised for translating cutting-edge research into practical clinical skills.

"Intensive EMDR is not simply delivering more therapy in less time—it is a fundamentally different way of helping clients maintain therapeutic momentum, reduce avoidance, and maximise opportunities for adaptive information processing."

Join us for an engaging, evidence-informed and clinically practical workshop that will transform your understanding of intensive EMDR and help you deliver effective trauma treatment for some of the most complex clients you will encounter.

I also think this workshop could be positioned as the first in an "Advanced EMDR Treatment Models" series, followed by:

  1. Combat Stress Intensive EMDR for PTSD & CPTSD (this course)

  1. EMDR for Moral Injury and Occupational Trauma

  1. Intensive EMDR for Emergency Services

  1. Designing Intensive EMDR Services: From Assessment to Outcome Evaluation

This would create a coherent advanced CPD pathway and fit well with your existing portfolio on Neuro-EMDR, Veterans, and "EMDR On the Spot."
