These terms and conditions govern your use of the Wine School of Cheshire website, our conditions of sale of tickets for our events and other products and services available on this website and your relationship with Wine School of Cheshire Limited (Wine School of Cheshire, we or us). Please read them carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under the law. If you do not agree to these Terms & Conditions please do not use this website.

Cancellation Policy (including rebooking fees): all Wine Tasting Event Tickets

If your circumstances change and you are no longer able to attend the tasting event you have booked for, please let us know as soon as possible. Whilst the booking is non-refundable after 14 days from the date of purchase*, we can offer you the following options:

More than 14 days after your purchase date and more than 30 days notice before the event date, we can transfer your booking onto another tasting of your choice however this must be within 90 days of the original event date and is subject to balance of payment should you choose an event with a higher ticket price. If in the unlikely event that no future event dates are available at that time, we can hold your place as pending until new dates are confirmed up to 90 days of the original booked event date.

Less than 30 days notice but more than 7 days before the event date, you are welcome to offer your place(s) to somebody else in your absence but please notify us by email at least 7 days before the event date: we will be unable to admit alternative guests without prior notification of name changes. If you are unable to offer your place(s) to someone else a rebooking fee applies to make it possible to move your booking. We can only move your booking after payment of the rebooking fee which is 30% of the booked event ticket price (applied per person), enabling you to transfer to another event of the same value. Attendance must be within 90 days of the original event date. Should you wish to join an event with a higher ticket price the balance must be paid at the same time as the cancellation fee. The cancellation fee will be invoiced by email and new tickets will be issued once payment has been received and the original tickets will be cancelled. A secure link for card payments can be sent via email. If you choose not to pay the cancellation fee to enable you to move your booking and you choose not to offer your place to someone in your absence, your booking will become void.

7 days or less before the event date: no changes are possible and guests unable to attend will not be able to transfer their booking.

Wine tasting event tickets and wine tasting gift vouchers are non refundable after 14 days from the date of purchase. Why?

As a wine school, we sell tickets for specific wine tasting events and classes for a specific date and time. We are not like a restaurant which accepts reservations. We are an independent company which offers educational services for food and wine and we do not sell physical products, in exactly the same way that theatres, other adult education establishments, cinemas, concert venues and sporting event venues work. We understand that sometimes that a guest cannot attend their rebooked event which is why we offer the alternatives stated above. We ask for your understanding that we do incur significant costs to our suppliers which is why our cancellation terms are set out as they are and we do our very best to accommodate all changes in circumstances.

Up to 14 days from your purchase date:

Your statutory right to a refund: You have a legal right to change your mind and cancel the contract you’ve entered into with us. This right lasts for 14 days from the date you complete payment or, in the case of Wine School of Cheshire gift vouchers, from the date your voucher was issued by email – this date is chosen by you at the point of purchasing the gift voucher.

When you cannot receive a refund: If you purchase tickets for an event which is scheduled to take place less than 14 days in advance of the purchase date you would lose your right to a refund as we will incur costs in preparing your place at the event (see below). More than 14 days from the date of purchase, wine tasting tickets and gift vouchers are non refundable.

How to tell us you want a refund: You must inform us within 14 days of the purchase date that you want a refund by by email. Email us at hello@cheshire.wine. Please provide your name, order number, details of the event you want to cancel and your email address. If you contact us as described above, we will refund the total price you paid for the cancelled event via the method you used for payment. Your refund will be made to you within 14 days of your telling us you want to cancel. If you have purchased using a Wine School of Cheshire gift voucher and request a refund up to 14 days from redeeming your voucher, the amount redeemed will be returned to the gift voucher code and the expiry date of that voucher will remain the same as originally issued and the terms and conditions affecting that voucher will continue to apply.

Coronavirus/COVID-19 – for guests joining us in person

The safety of our guests and staff at our venues must and always will come first. We and our venues will adhere to any legal requirements and Government recommendations at all times and any changes placed into law by the UK Government will be adhered to and updated both on our website and by email to any affected existing bookings and these changes, if applied at any time from the point of booking to the event taking place, will automatically form part of these terms and conditions of booking.

If you or your guest is showing any symptoms of Coronavirus/COVID-19 you must NOT attend the event and must inform us at the earliest opportunity. Any guest showing symptoms on arrival will not be permitted to attend and that booking will become void and will not be eligable to move to another event or receive a refund. There is currently no Government financial support for business affected by Coronavirus/COVID-19, therefore our standard terms and conditions apply at all times if your attendance is affected by Coronavirus/COVID-19.

Please refer to the ‘Coronavirus/COVID-19’ heading within your individual event description for any updates for the provision for your safety at each event.

Guests from the same booking:

For all our guests’ safety and enjoyment of our intimate tasting events, thank you for for your kind understating that groups joining us are limited to 4 guests on board The Lady Diana and are limited to 6 guests at Art Box.

Any second booking received with an expectation to join another individual booking from the same group of family or friends will be cancelled – if we are informed of this instance less than 30 days before the event, any tickets purchased will only be eligible for rebooking within our terms if we can re-sell the affected tickets. Less than 7 days before the event, tickets will not be eligible for rebooking or refund. If we are informed more than 30 days before the event date, tickets may be booked onto an alternative event within 90 days of the original event date, as per our cancellation terms above.

Force Majeure

The Wine School of Cheshire and/or its events partners shall not be under any liability if it is unable to carry out any provision of an event on the advertised date for any reason beyond its control including (without limiting the aforegoing) Act of God, legislation, war, fire, flood, epidemic, pandemic, alterations, decorations or by order of any public authority, failure of power supply, failure of water supply, lock-out, inability to obtain appropriate license, strike or other action taken by employees in contemplation of or in furtherance of a dispute or owing to any inability to procure materials required for the performance of the event during the continuance of such a contingency.

In any such case The Wine School of Cheshire and/or its event partners may, by written notice, elect to cancel, postpone or terminate the event. Under such circumstances as highlighted above, The Wine School of Cheshire will issue a gift voucher for the value of the purchase price paid which can be redeemed against an alternative event on our website up to 12 months from the issue date of the voucher issued. Under those same circumstances The Wine School of Cheshire shall not be liable for any other expenses incurred such as transport or travel costs or any items reserved, consumed or purchased directly from our event partners which are not included within the advertised event.

Force Majeure – flow of goods

Under some circumstances of force majeure, the possibility exists that the flow of goods and services into the United Kingdom may be affected. If the flow of goods includes the supply of wines, spirits or core menu ingredients and this is either restricted, prohibited or increases the cost of goods to us by more than 10%, we reserve the right to make any necessary changes to our event schedule to enable our events to continue.

We will endeavour to continue to operate our tasting events schedule as planned and advertised, however it may be necessary to change the theme of the event to an alternative country of origin of wines and/or an alternative menu if the supply of goods and services or the cost increase of these goods prevents us from operating our intended events schedule. Should this be necessary we will inform all guests attending of these changes in writing, usually by email, and where possible by telephone, at least seven days prior to the event taking place.

Our terms and conditions of cancellation for both parties remain unchanged under these circumstances.

Food allergens (including sulphites)

We understand that some guests may have specific food allergies and we are always able to provide alternative ingredients and, if required, alternative dishes to ensure your food and wine pairing experience is enjoyable. We do require a minimum of 7 days notice prior to the event start date to ensure our venues are able to access the appropriate ingredients and appreciate your understanding and kind assistance when this is necessary.

Please be aware as we are a wine school that wine is served at all our events and all wines produced do contain sulphites. We endeavour to feature wines where additional sulphites are not added by the winemaker or transporter, however UK legislation requires that all wines are correctly labeled as containing sulphites as these are produced in small quantities naturally during fermentation. If you suffer from a sulphite allergy we will be unable to offer any alternatives to wine and this must be considered before booking. We regret that a refund will not be available if we are informed of a sulphite allergy after your booking has been completed. Our terms and conditions for cancellation will apply as highlighted above.

Gift Vouchers

Wine School of Cheshire gift vouchers are available in monetary amounts of £50, £100, £150, £200, £250 & £300 or purchasers may choose their one amount. Gift voucher recipients wishing to book an event with a higher cost can use their gift voucher at the checkout by entering the voucher code and paying the difference with an acceptable debit or credit card. Gift voucher codes are unique and can only be redeemed by the recipient. There is no alternative cash value however if the full value of the gift voucher is not redeemed in one transaction the balance will remain as credit for the validity period of the gift voucher enabling the balance to be used on another booking within that time period. Booking and attending an event using a gift voucher has to be within the 12 month validity period. Gift vouchers are valid for use against tasting events available to book on our website only and are not valid for redemption against private or corporate tasting events, wine, wine gifts or wine books. If the recipient can’t attend any of our events, the voucher is not refundable and gift vouchers are not transferrable. Once a gift voucher recipient has booked onto an event using a gift voucher, their booking will fall under the above mentioned cancellation policy for wine tasting event tickets.

When you cannot receive a refund: If you purchase a gift voucher and the recipient redeems the same voucher less than 14 days in advance of the purchase date you would lose your right to a refund as the voucher will have been redeemed. More than 14 days from the date of purchase, wine tasting gift vouchers are non refundable.

How to tell us you want a refund: You must inform us within 14 days of the purchase date that you want a refund by by email. Email us at hello@cheshire.wine. Please provide your name, order number, details of the event you want to cancel and your email address. If you contact us as described above, we will refund the total price you paid for the cancelled event via the method you used for payment. Your refund will be made to you within 14 days of your telling us you want to cancel. If the gift voucher has been issued directtly to the recipient to an email address provided by you at the point of purchase, we will contact that recipient via the same email address to inform them that the voucher code is no longer valid due a refund request from the purchaser.

Cancelled events

If, in the unlikely event that we are unable to run an event, we will inform you as soon as possible. We will close the bookings for that particular event and offer you an alternative date or send you a gift voucher valid for 12 months.

Corporate and private wine tasting events – Terms & Conditions

Our corporate and private wine tasting events are charged on an individual event basis. Our charges will be agreed in advance and in writing prior to confirmation together with a formal contract and terms and conditions for your private or corporate event will be included within that contract.

Guest behaviour

It is your responsibility to ensure that you and any persons with your associated booking do not behave in a way which is inappropriate or causes offence or danger to others (our colleagues, other guests or guests and colleagues of our event partners) or which risks damage to property belonging to Wine School of Cheshire or others (including but not limited to drunkenness, theft and/or anti social behaviour and also smoking, including electronic cigarettes, which is not permitted at any time) whilst attending an event with Wine School of Cheshire or using a service/product we provide or a service/product provided by our event partners.

If your behaviour is inappropriate and/or causes offence, or damage to Wine School of Cheshire or others or breaks the law, or risks damage to property belonging to Wine School of Cheshire or others, we may ask you to leave the event and will cancel any future booking you have with us, in which case our responsibility to provide a service or supply goods to you will cease immediately and you will not be eligible for any refunds, payments of compensation and/or any reimbursement of any cost or expenses you may incur as a result of such termination. Further, you will be liable to reimburse us or our event partners for any expenses we incur as a result of such termination.

Please read these terms of use carefully before you start to use this website. By using our site, you indicate that you accept these terms of use and that you agree to abide by them. Access to our website is permitted on a temporary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw or amend the service we provide on our site without notice (see below). We will not be liable if for any reason our site is unavailable at any time or for any period.
