The Solution Focused Therapy Academy (SFTA) is a UK based training provider specialising in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and modern, neuroscience informed therapeutic education.

We are passionate about making high quality hypnotherapy training accessible, practical, and ethically grounded. Our courses are designed for both aspiring hypnotherapists and those already working in helping professions who want to develop real world clinical confidence alongside a clear theoretical foundation.

SFTA training is known for its strong emphasis on practical application. Rather than focusing solely on theory, we teach you how to work safely and effectively with real clients, using solution focused approaches that are positive, forward looking, and client centred. Our teaching style is clear, supportive, and grounded in how change actually happens in the brain and nervous system.

In-person hypnotherapy training

Our in-person courses are delivered throughout the UK in locations including Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Sheffield, Liverpool and York. These courses combine weekend classroom learning with online modules delivered via Zoom, giving you direct access to experienced lecturers and live demonstrations. Over eight modules you will engage in hands-on practice, reflective learning, and immersive workshops that build competence and confidence. On completion you will be well prepared to work autonomously with clients and establish a thriving practice.

Distance learning hypnotherapy training

For those who prefer flexible, self-paced learning, our distance training option allows you to study from home with personalised tutor support. This course uses interactive video content, podcasts, written activities, and optional one-to-one sessions to replicate the depth of classroom learning in a flexible format. You can progress at your own pace – completing the eight modules in as little as six months or spreading your study over a year with bespoke support to fit your lifestyle.

Qualifications and professional recognition

As you progress through your in-person training, you will work towards nationally recognised qualifications:

• the Solution Focused Academy Hypnotherapy Diploma (SFHD)

• the Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD)

Both awards are accredited and externally validated, with the HPD recognised on the national vocational framework through the Northern College of Further Education. Graduates are eligible for practitioner membership with major professional bodies including the Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council, the British Institute of Hypnotherapy & NLP Ltd, and the General Hypnotherapy Register – giving you credibility and insurance options as a professional hypnotherapist.
