Mythomania is a form compulsive lying disorder that can be difficult to treat. It is a complex psychological condition characterised by habitual lying, often to the point of creating intricate, fantastical narratives. However, some people engage in regular untruths as a way of navigating challenging environments, relationships and experiences. This everday evasion and lying can be very damaging for the individual and and those around them.
This workshop will provide an introduction to mythomania and its variants - and explore how CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) can be used to effectively treat it.
