Terms of Service – Membership Course

Offered by Miroku Association USA via the Cademy Platform

Effective Date: July 11, 2025

1. Overview

This Terms of Service (“Agreement”) governs your participation in the Johrei Membership Course (“the Course”), offered by Miroku Association USA (“we,” “us,” or “our”) through the Cademy online learning platform (“Cademy”). By registering for and participating in the Course, you agree to be bound by these terms.

The Course is offered free of charge ($0) to individuals seeking to learn about the philosophy and practices of Johrei, and to explore the teachings and mission of Miroku Association USA, with the intention of becoming practitioners.

2. Eligibility

Participants must be at least 16 years of age to register independently. However, individuals under 16 may participate with the explicit permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Parents or guardians are responsible for:

Registering on behalf of the minor
Supervising the minor’s participation in the course
Ensuring that the content is appropriate and understood in context

By enrolling a minor, the parent or guardian agrees to these Terms of Service on their behalf.

3. Purpose of the Course

This Course is an educational and spiritual introduction to the teachings of Meishu-sama and the mission of Miroku Association USA. It is designed to help participants:

Understand the fundamentals of Johrei and Meishu-sama’s teachings
Prepare for spiritual practice and future participation in the Miroku Association community

Note: Completion of the Course does not automatically confer the right to publicly practice Johrei or to receive the Ohikari (sacred medallion). Further guidance will be provided for those who wish to continue on the path toward becoming a Johrei practitioner.

4. Cost and Access

The Course is provided free of charge. Access is granted through the Cademy learning platform. Participants are responsible for their own internet connection and devices.

5. Code of Conduct

By enrolling in the Course, you agree to:

Participate respectfully in lessons and discussions
Treat all participants, instructors, and spiritual content with dignity
Not reproduce, distribute, or alter course materials without written permission

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in removal from the Course at our discretion.

6. Intellectual Property

All course content (including but not limited to videos, texts, handouts, and graphics) is the intellectual property of Miroku Association USA, unless otherwise noted. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or commercial use is prohibited.

7. Privacy and Data

Information collected during the registration and participation process is governed by Cademy’s Privacy Policy. Miroku Association USA may access participant information (e.g., name, email, and course progress) strictly for course management and spiritual support purposes. We do not share or sell this information to third parties.

8. Disclaimers

This Course is intended exclusively for spiritual education and personal development. It does not provide:

Medical advice
Psychological or therapeutic services
Legal or financial counseling

Participation is voluntary. The Miroku Association USA shall not be held liable for personal interpretations or applications of the material outside its intended spiritual scope.

9. Modifications

We may update this Agreement periodically. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued participation constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
