Iain Macleod Associates has been providing training and consultancy services for industry since 1991.
We provide training courses on-site for a wide variety of clients, spread across a broad range of industries.
We are the UK’s leading provider of training in Geometrical Tolerancing, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), ISO Geometrical Product Specification (ISO GPS), BS 8888 and mechanical specification.
Our courses are certified by the Institution of Engineering Designers, and are available as accredited courses through the National Physical Laboratory training framework.

An intensive two-day course in geometrical Tolerancing, which follows on from, and builds upon, the Level 1 course.
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to ASME Y14.5 – Level 1
An intensive three-day course introducing the fundamental principles of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to the ASME Y14.5 standard.

Specification Reviews
We offer a specification review service, which can be applied to individual specifications or entire projects
- Have the datum systems been correctly defined?
- Have the tolerances been correctly defined?
- Is the specification complete?
- Does the specification conform with the appropriate standards?
We can also help with converting specifications from ISO to ASME standards and vice versa.
The findings of the review are presented to the client in the form of an illustrated report.

Geometrical Tolerancing Audit
A review of the use of geometrical tolerancing within your organisation.
This can be carried out as a simple assessment of a number of sample drawings or specifications.
A more in-depth audit can also involve written assessments for members of staff, interviews, and analysis of relevant factors such as scrap rates, rework rates, volume of design concessions and change requests, etc
