This is a six week Minfulness course for beginners which will start on Sunday 13 March at 3 PM. I will run at the Yoga Tree in Stirling and we will meet every Sunday until 17 April.
If you feel that you have been badly affected by the events of the last year and you are looking for ways to improve your mood, your outlook, your sense of resilience and wellbeing - think MINDFULNESS! Research has shown that Mindfulness can reduce anxiety dramatically, lifts your mood and helps you to reduce the levels of negative rumination and worrying thoughts.
Mindfulness is a way of being and powerful tool to retrain your brain. And of course there are a lot of ways of learning to be mindful: books, apps and courses. So, why should you come and join a course instead of using an app or reading a book? Mindfulness done right is an embodied experience. Reading a book about it might leave you still not really knowing what you are supposed to do. There are many apps on the market. If you have never been taught by a person how to be mindful, they too might not be that useful to you. With a teacher you can ask questions and explore your experience. Here are the benefits of learning mindfulness from an experienced mindfulness teacher:
- I will role model being mindful for you
- you can ask me as many questions as you like and get feedback on your practise
- you are with others who also explore what mindfulness means to them (that's always a rich source of learning)
- you will get a lot more than just guided meditations. We will look at the potential problems arising, the brain science of mindfulness and how to best support yourself.
If you want to find out what Mindfulness is and enjoy your life more, this is for you. Are you interested?
I will run an interactive in person course starting 1 February 22. The course will run for six weeks and sessions are 1.5 hours long. Fees include our sessions together and access to the handouts and audio files for the guided exercises. The number of participants is limited to 8 people to ensure that you can get the most out of this.
