Begin Well

Begin Well is a new charity founded by a Health visitor and a Consultant Obstetrician. Between us we have worked in the NHS for almost 40 years and over that time have seen the importance of preparing families for the arrival of a new baby. We have developed an evidence-based antenatal course which equips parents-to-be for all the changes that occur at the start of family life. Working alongside volunteers in the South West, Begin Well provides affordable high quality, evidence-based antenatal classes to pregnant women and their birth partners. The course takes place over 5 weeks, and covers topics including Giving Birth and Meeting our Baby, Changes for me and us, our Health and Wellbeing and Caring for our Baby. There is no charge for the course. Our course is based on the NHS curriculum and is delivered by church volunteers across Bristol and Devon. We link parents-to-be with people and resources in their local community, so after having a baby you are supported through all the challenges and joy having a baby brings. During Covid-19 we are following government guidance and all our courses are taking place via zoom to maintain your safety. Your course will be hosted by volunteers and attended by parents-to-be from your local area.
