About Wigan Ethnic Minority Achievement Service
Winner of the LGC's 'Council of the Year' 2019, Wigan Council is the ninth largest metropolitan authority in the country. It is one of ten local authorities that make up the Greater Manchester. Since 2010, the council has saved more than £149m through The Deal - an informal agreement between the authority and its residents to help transform public services. Working at Wigan Council is extremely rewarding. We believe in a healthy work life balance and our smart working policy reflects that commitment. In return we ask staff to adhere to the Be Wigan behaviours: Be Positive, Be Accountable, Be Courageous. As part of the Staff Deal we believe in giving back to the local community which is why staff are encouraged to take two volunteering days a year. In addition, staff who achieve 100% attendance are given an extra days leave. It's no wonder then that our staff satisfaction rates are consistently high.
