When was the last time you paused and looked up at the night sky with wide-eyed curiosity, appreciating the magic and awe of the stars? The practice of mindful stargazing is about slowing down and immersing yourself in the experience of the night time and contemplating what it is to be a human in this vast cosmos. It helps us developing a first-hand, experiential knowledge of what it is, not to look at the Universe, but to be in the Universe.
Explore our place in the cosmos – scientifically, energetically, and spiritually.
We’ll begin indoors in the big barn with a cosmic body scan, sensing different parts of our body and reflecting on how our bodies are made from stardust billions of years old, before marvelling at images of star birth and death on the projector screen.
Then we’ll head outdoors to get settled with a view of the sky and, opening our senses, we’ll spend time experiencing the night sky as it is – whether clear or cloudy – and, if conditions allow, finish with a guided tour of the stars including some constellation myths and stories.
Sharing a picnic supper together (veggie/beef chilli) with hot drinks included.
(Note: the event will go ahead whatever the weather.)
