Understanding physical activity behaviour can be complex. It’s rarely as simple as who moves and who doesn’t. Invariably, it is caught up in the context of where and in what conditions people live and work. The stage of life they’ve reached and the life experiences that have come their way. It’s caught up with their health, their relative wealth and how connected they feel to friends, family and their community. People are complex. Their lives may also be complex and there may be a tangled web of issues influencing whether they live an active or inactive lifestyle. We help our partners to recognise this complexity and work with it rather than against it. By applying a range of skills and expertise we build a picture of physical activity behaviour.
