Welcome to our Emergency Paediatric First Aid Level 3 (VTQ) course, a comprehensive programme designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge to handle emergencies involving infants and children. This one-day course, 6 hours, serves as an entry-level qualification and forms Unit 1 of the full Paediatric First Aid course.
Embark on a journey to become a childcare hero with our dynamic and engaging training programme. Throughout the day, you'll cover a range of topics, from assessing and managing incidents to administering life-saving techniques specifically tailored for infants and children. Guided by our expert instructors, you'll learn how to respond promptly to injuries, illnesses, and accidents that may occur in childcare settings or everyday life.
Interactive demonstrations, practical exercises, and real-life scenarios ensure that you not only understand the theory but also gain hands-on experience in applying first aid techniques. Whether it's CPR, managing choking, or dealing with wounds and fractures, you'll leave feeling empowered and ready to spring into action when needed.
Our course content aligns with the latest UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines as per Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements. Upon completion, you'll receive a certification valid for three years, giving you and your employer peace of mind knowing that you're fully prepared to handle paediatric emergencies with confidence.

Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider
Be able to assess an emergency situation safely
Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child who are unresponsive
Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child who are choking
Be able to provide first aid to an infant or a child with external bleeding
Know how to provide first aid to an infant or a child who is suffering from shock
Know how to provide first aid to an infant or a child with bites, stings and minor injuries
If you are registering as a childminder or working in a childcare setting, you may need to complete the full two-day Paediatric First Aid course. This Emergency Paediatric First Aid course serves as Unit 1 of the full qualification, and upon completion, you can proceed to complete Unit 2 to receive the full Paediatric First Aid Award.
