About Manjot Dhaliwal

Mona Dhaliwal is a doctoral student in Sociology at the University of Sussex. She is supervised by Dr Laura Morosanu and Dr Aleksandra Lewicki. Mona recently completed her MA Gender Studies at the University of Sussex where she looked at Epistemic Violence and Microaggressions in Brighton Primary Schools. She holds a BA Sociology from Western University and an MTeach from Griffith University. Her research project explores a cross comparative analysis of gendered experiences of South Asian immigration in the UK and in Canada in relation to diversity management policies. She is working with a Participatory Action Research Model and aims to collaboratively present experiences with her participants. She endeavours to further the integration of Postcolonialism within Sociology, and to address Epistemic Violence within Diversity Management Policies.
