About Lishi Tai Chi, Kung Fu & Wu Shu Nottingham
The Taoist teachings are personally handed down from the teachings and practice of Chee Soo and many Taoists before him. This remarkable man was still actively leading classes well into his seventies, a fine example of the Taoist philosophy of putting “life into your years”. Come and learn how to get the best out of yourself. The Nottingham class is a friendly group with students of all ages and abilities – but you do need to be 16 or over and able to get on and off the floor easily Be fit, be healthy, be happy, be calm, be strong, be flexible, be baffled, be mindful, be enlightened – be human! You will be introduced to a range of exercises that make up Lishi. These include: Daoist Taijiquan (Tai Chi) forms including the Square Yard, Flying Hands and sword and post forms Kai Men – a system of Daoist Yoga to open up the meridians Dao Yin – breathing exercises for good health and energy cultivation Qi Gong – learn how to use and direct your intrinsic energy Feng Shou (Hand of the Wind) Kung Fu – a dynamic system of self-defense! All you need is loose comfortable clothing (e.g. Tracksuit bottoms, T-shirt and trainers) and some indoor shoes (we wear black gym pumps, but clean trainers will do).
