About Leeds Dyslexia Services

Elizabeth qualified as a secondary school teacher in 1990 and has worked in schools in the Midlands as well as Yorkshire teaching humanities subjects as well as English. She holds a postgraduate diploma in dyslexia and literacy from Middlesex University as well as a current APC from PATOSS which enables her to offer diagnostic assessments. She has a wide range of experience teaching mainstream classes as well as offering support to those who needs extra intervention at GCSE level as well as for those who are struggling in the foundations of reading. She has trained and managed teaching assistants within both primary and secondary schools and has led workshops on dyslexia and autism spectrum disorders. She also holds two postgraduate certificates from Leeds University and York University and was formerly a senior teacher and assessor with Dyslexia Action in Leeds and Sheffield. She is passionate about supporting those with literacy difficulties.
