Rebeka Finch is a Literary Agent at Darley Anderson. Drawing inspiration from her personal reading preferences and her deep-seated love for commercial new adult, romance, and romantasy fiction, Rebeka has been building a vibrant and exciting list of authors in these markets. Her debut author Donna Marchetti became an instant US and UK Kindle Bestseller and is now translated into 15 languages to date. She has orchestrated major deals on both sides of the Atlantic with several publications due to launch in 2025. She was honoured with a nomination for Agent of the Year by the Romantic Novelists’ Association 2025.

Rebeka is actively looking for romantic fantasy, or “romantasy”. Think Sarah J Maas, Rebecca Yarros, Saara El-Arifi, or Carissa Broadbent. She has her eyes peeled for a novel or series that captures the high stakes thrills and world building of a fantasy setting, with those romantic relationships at the core of the story. She’s keen to explore different landscapes and am looking specifically for desert set stories like Rae Carson’s Fire and Thorns and Danielle Jensen’s The Traitor Queen. She’s also excited to see more myth and folklore from communities and civilisations across the globe, especially in the commercial fiction market. Novels like Tahereh Mafi’s The Woven Kingdom or Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan. Importantly, she looks for strong, diverse, brave and relatable characters and ensemble casts. Those that feel like both a friend, a champion and an ally.

In the contemporary romance space, Rebeka is looking for books that encapsulate life in your messy 20s; romantic, chaotic and full of heart. She love books that lean into the classic romance tropes. Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, childhood sweethearts, forced proximity…you get the picture. She is on the hunt for books that lean into these tropes, but provide a new spin on the traditional story.

She’s also keen to explore the spicier end the romance spectrum. I love to read books that advocate for healthy adult relationships, both emotionally and physically. Elsie Silver’s Chestnut Springs Series and B.K. Borison’s Lovelight Series both encapsulate this wonderful intimacy with a beautiful, strong sense of setting. She want books that offer a sex-positive outlook for readers and that are representative of all voices and sexual orientations. Messy, cheesy, heartbreaking, relatable, she’s wants characters and their story to engross her completely and have her reaching for it time and time again.

She’d also love to explore more genre bending mashups, think Twisters but make it a romance, or Bridget Jones meets Oceans Eleven. A modern day, feminist retelling of Robin Hood where she outwits them all…and falls of Guy of Gisborne. Something filled with thrills and adventure, but keeping a spine tingling romance at its core. Above all, she’s looking for escapism, butterflies, and a healthy dose of spice.
