Home-start Deveron

Home-Start Deveron is affiliated with Home-Start UK/Scotland, one of the leading nationwide family support charities. We have been supporting families across the Deveron Valley area since 1999 and formed a consortium with other schemes across the Aberdeenshire area back in 2015. During 2019/20 Home-Start Deveron supported 181 families through a combination of our core 1-1 home-visiting support, group sessions & social events. We tailor our support to each family and their individual needs, and we work with the whole family. We do this by recruiting and training volunteers to visit families within their own home for 2-3 hours per week to offer informal, friendly, non-judgemental and confidential support. We also have 1 Family Support Worker on our team who support families on a 1-1 basis and a play worker running our groups alongside volunteers. Families are mainly referred to us via a range of agencies through the Aberdeenshire Health & Social Care Partnership, and we do welcome self-referrals direct through the office.
