Home Study Pack - A Home Study Pack will be provided to you prior to attending the course and is an integral part of your learning programme. Completion of this assignment is recommended prior to attending the course and is designed to provide you with a basic knowledge of several fundamental subject areas.

  • Do I need any prior qualifications?

    No, this course is open to all applicants. It will teach you right from the very beginning of phlebotomy up until the point of live blood collection. 

  • What is Phlebotomy?

    The medical practice of drawing blood from a vein. 

  • Will I be qualified to draw live blood after the course?

    Yes, on consenting adults, as long as it is in line with your company's protocols and procedures. You will gain a Level 3 nationally recognised qualification, accredited by the Open College Network and CPD Certification Service.

  • Can I take the course online?

    Yes — the Virtual Classroom option includes a FREE Practise@Home Phlebotomy Training Kit (worth £79.95) so you can complete practical training from anywhere. You will need a device with a camera and a microphone to complete it via a Zoom session with a tutor.

  • How long is the course?

    The course will be held over 2 consecutive days from 9:30-16:30 both days. The first day will cover the theory element of the course and the second day will be practical based. 

  • Can I apply to work in the NHS after this course?

    Yes - the NHS offer a Trainee Phlebotomist role (Pay Band 2) that would help you to gain further experience in the field. 

  • Do you offer payment plans?

    Yes — you can secure your place with a deposit and pay the balance in instalments. The full amount must be paid at least 5 working days before the course date. We also offer Klarna when booking online. 

  • When will I receive my certificate?

    Digital certificates are issued within 7–14 working days after the course on your learning platform. Printed copies are available for an additional fee.
