Come join us for a comprehensive 2-day Mental Health First Aid course in Dorking!
Learn how to provide initial support to someone experiencing a mental health crisis.
This in-person event will be held at the The Ashcombe School, The Student Learning Centre. The school has amble parking, please note the classroom is on the second floor. The school is a 5 minute walk from Dorking Main and Dorking Deepdene train station.
While the course may cover material that is emotionally triggering, we prioritise creating a safe and supportive environment and your self-care is important to us. Learners are encouraged to opt out during any section if needed, respecting their decisions and comfort levels.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to gain valuable skills and knowledge to help those in need. We look forward to supporting you on your journey to becoming an MHFAider® Sign up now!
The course normally costs £300 but we subsidise this heavily through our independent fundraising in order to make it accessible to all. If you cannot afford the reduced course fee of £20 (plus booking fee) we offer a number of concessionary places on each course at a rate which covers the cost of the training manual.

What others have said
“Jane was amazing, her knowledge and confidence led to such a relaxed, friendly and calm environment. The course was so informative and really made me think. Thank you."
“This was one of the most informative and enjoyable pieces of training I have done! Jane was friendly, approachable and very knowledgeable. She went at a pace which suited me but was also aware of others' learning styles and experiences too. There was a level of understanding right from the start which I felt put people at ease for what is a very emotive subject. I would highly recommend both Jane as a trainer and the course layout. It has inspired me to seek further training within this sector, so thank you to Jane for her delivery and to MHFA England for the content.”

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) courses are for everyone who works with, lives with or supports adults. They will teach you the skills and confidence to spot the signs of mental health issues, offer first aid and guide them towards the support they need. In doing so, you can speed up a person’s recovery and stop a mental health issue from getting worse.
Our courses won't teach you to be a therapist, but we will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis - and even potentially stop a crisis from happening. But more than that, we aim to give you the information, skills and insight to look after your own mental health so that you can set an example for young people. By giving you the tools to have these conversations, we hope to empower you to create a mentally healthy, supportive environment in your family, school, peer group or community.
Let's create a future where mental health is treated as a normal part of life, in the same way as physical health. A future where every young person has access to support if they need it.
