Over the past decade I have taught in a variety of different settings; inner city state, depths of the countryside, abroad and in London’s top private schools heading up the 11+ process. I have a wealth of knowledge about how children learn and have the skills to engage even the most reluctant of learners. I believe educating the future generation is a privilege. We as teachers hold the torch to inspire young minds on a daily basis. My style of teaching is based on research, experience and instinct. I am continuously reinventing the curriculum to engage every type of learner however, my deeper passion lies not just to curate minds to pass exams, but to be curious, passionate learners for life. I am dedicated to helping others find the confidence to want to chase their interests; to be able to express and communicate themselves in the demanding work place and provide your child with the emerging variety of life skills they now need. Hayley's School of Dance opened in 2008 offering ballet and tap lessons on a Wednesday night but quickly grew. The Wickford dance school is well established now offers: Ballet, Tap, Commercial, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Acro, Musical Theatre, Character, Jazz and Singing. The overall dance programme combined with Hayley's innovative and friendly teaching methods where each child is focused on individually helps a child reach their full potential. In addition to dance, HSD offers a friendly environment to build children's confidence and make life long friendships. Each class offers a different value to a child, be it an after school hobby or a platform for a future career. The dance school also compete's in competitions (Winning Best Dance Act 2015 in Essex) and offers many performance opportunities at locations like the Royal Albert Hall, The 02 and Her Majesty's Theatre to name but a few. 2017 will also see the children performing on Broadway at the New York Town Hall Theatre. Hayley's School of Dance are FYD national champions in contemporary, while Anais Mejias holds the best young choreographer award in Essex. The schools soloists hold many national titles competing at various competitions throughout each year.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our website and our school. William Edwards is a large, successful, harmonious and thriving mixed 11-16 comprehensive school. Pupil outcomes across the school are historically strong. However, attending William Edwards is about so much more than just GCSE outcomes. We firmly believe that your school days should be the best days of your life and that schools have a moral purpose to extend the life experiences of their pupils. That is why we boast the largest Duke of Edinburgh cohort of any school in the East of England and are one of only a very small number of secondary schools nationally to hold both the Artsmark Platinum Award and the Youth Sports Trust Gold Award for our work in these diverse fields. We were delighted that our last inspection report noted that “pupils who spoke to inspectors were effusive about their experience in school” and that “the breadth of curriculum opportunities available at the school is a real ‘gem’ in the school’s offer to its pupils”. The school is a proud founding member of the South West Essex Community Education Trust which runs three secondary schools and three primary schools across Thurrock and the London Borough of Havering. We were delighted that our last Ofsted inspection captured our considerable strengths in teaching, pastoral care, behaviour, pupil support and curriculum. Little Yoga Studio aims to empower children and adults, in mind and body, through a fun, creative and inspiring approach to yoga. My children’s classes focus on exploring a child’s natural flexibility. Improving their own strength and poise, while helping them nurture a strong sense of self and awareness of others. The journey isn’t dissimilar with my adult classes. With each class, we work on bringing inner harmony through movement, breath and meditation. Uniting the body, mind and spirit to awaken our true Self. My teaching journey began shortly after the birth of my daughter. Having practiced yoga for 10 years, I found motherhood gave me a new perspective. Wanting to deepen my practice, I found myself taking to the mat in between my classes. And as I moved through poses or paused in meditation, I noticed her watching with curiosity. Before long she was on my mat, copying the poses and demanding more ‘mummy yoga.’ Soon she had her own mat (in her favourite colour, purple, of course) and we were practicing yoga together daily. Really I have her to thank for setting me on this path. As watching her little character flourish in our practices together has inspired me to share this with both little and bigger minds alike. My 200-hr training with Avani Yoga Academy and Yoga Bananas means I am now honoured to share the ancient practice of yoga in an authentic and heartfelt way to adults, children and families alike. Of course yoga is a lifelong journey that is forever evolving. I am honoured to continue my own discovery with a 50-hour Yoga Nidra Immersion with Avani Yoga Academy and Naomi Absalom’s 6-month Liberate mentorship, among others.

A message from the Founder & Director Stephanie Williams S6 Tutoring Academy was formed following my own experience of working within the state education system. After graduating with a 2.1 BA Hons in Marketing and Business Studies, I qualified as a teacher and taught Maths, English, Music, Science and Business Studies in a Secondary State School. S6 Tutoring is a private limited company in the education sector, dedicated to tutoring and mentoring young people. The company is young and vibrant and is the choice for parents who want their children to maximise their academic potential. Our vision is to play a pivotal role in improving academic standards. The company provides an initial, honest, home assessment that will accurately evaluate a child’s need. Each tutor is CRB checked and has qualifications and experience relevant to the role. An assessment of a child’s ability and potential is carried out in the initial stages, leaving parents secure in their expectations. I encourage my team of tutors to be pro-active in their approach and be responsible for the provision of educational services, continually pushing the boundaries with effective and exciting teaching aids. We receive excellent recommendations and client reviews and have continued to attract new clients, due to the commitment of the team and the continued success rate in students passing and obtaining a place at their first choice of grammar school – details of which can be seen on our Results pages. In summary, I feel that S6 Tutoring will build on its success by continuing to offer an educational experience focused on the unique needs of each of our clients. The company has much improved since its inception, particularly with the launch of the S6 Hub. Our objective is to continue working with a personal and professional approach to provide our pupils with the opportunity to progressively learn and strengthen their skill set, to meet the demands of secondary education and maximise their potential.
