He was working at Cranfield University’s Centre for Defence Engineering (CDE) as a lecturer in Complex Weapons, where he spent a number of years teaching defence engineering topics in military land vehicle propulsion, transmission system design, weapons design, and fighting vehicle design. He still supports CDE’s courses. Dr Khanal has delivered short courses to defence organizations (currently to US & UK Army and Canadian defence personnels) as an external consultant, and the teaching are focused on weapons engineering courses e.g. Military Engine Technologies, Military Tracked Vehicle Transmission Systems and Designs, Gun System Designs, Fighting Vehicle Design etc. Dr Khanal is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a member of Royal Aeronautical Society, UK. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK. He is also an active researcher in computational fluid dynamics, and has published numerous research articles in journals and conference proceedings. Some of his most recent research projects include CFD studies on large calibre gun muzzle brake flowfield, thrust reverser design, High-Pressure turbine blade design and transient missile release from a military aircraft. We are also supported by Major Santa Pun MBE, Major Pun is a senior advisor to Defence College. His experience in UK Military and continuing service in UK MOD means we are strategically supported by a defence professional with life long experience in defence.

Rienzo Colpo was one of those founders he navigated the metamorphosis of that Beyond Coaching, to the lean and powerful force that it is today. Hall Farm Eastoft has been farmed by the Coulman family for some 150 years or more and over time the land has produced a wide range of arable crops and been home to cattle, pigs, chickens and more recently alpacas. Extending to around 235 hectares (575 acres) of land the farm grow wheat, oilseed rape, sugar beet, potatoes and grass, as well as maintaining an extensive environmental scheme to enhance the natural habitat. It is important to us to farm to the highest environmental, sustainable and welfare standards which means we subscribe to a range of key industry standards and generate much of our energy and resources from sustainable sources. As members of Red Tractor Assurance schemes for both crop production and our pig production, as well as Freedom Food, British Quality Pork and Global Animal Partnership schemes for our pigs, we ensure that all our produce meets high production standards and enters the food chain. We generate all our power from our Solar PV system, powering lights, feed systems, grain driers and our vehicles and use a Biomass boiler to provide heat. In addition, around 90% of our water use is either borehole sourced or from rainwater harvesting ensuring we minimise our use of mains, treated water and rely on naturally produced water. The farm has hosted educational visits for many years, supported by Natural England’s environmental schemes, and has developed this educational support since 2017 into a social farm engaging with young people and adults, empowering them to develop skills to enrich their learning, wellbeing and social life. With our focus on sustainable, environmentally friendly farming coupled with our increasing community of social farmers, here at Hall Farm Eastoft we aim to provide a community farming operation benefiting the environment and the local community.

In 2016, Brunel celebrated 50 years as a university. However, our history can be traced back much further to 1798 through our predecessor colleges of Borough Road College, Maria Grey College, Shoreditch College and the West London Institute of Higher Education and as well as through Acton Technical College then Brunel College. Our rise since 1966 has been impressive and our reputation grows year on year. Now a university of 12,746 students – 3,309 students engaged in postgraduate and research study – our special approach is to combine academic rigour with the practical, entrepreneurial and imaginative approach pioneered by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The decision to be named after Isambard Kingdom Brunel was taken after much discussion. Rather than name the new College after a location, Dr Topping, the first Vice Chancellor of Brunel University (and former Principal of Brunel College) pleaded that the name should be a well-known person preferably an engineer or scientist associated in some way with Middlesex or Acton. Agreement was reached in March 1957 that person would be Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Isambard Kingdom Brunel (1806-1859) is one of the great British engineers of the 19th century. Isambard was born into an industrious family in 1806, with his mother Sophia Kingdom working for the Royal Navy and father Marc Brunel being a prominent French engineer. Isambard took on formal training as an engineer and went on to build twenty-five railways lines, over a hundred bridges, including five suspension bridges, eight pier and dock systems, three ships and a pre-fabricated army field hospital.To add to this he was a keen social engineer, building housing estates, churches and hospitals.
