We aim to respond to what our clients require and have the flexibility to provide anything from a 30 minute team talk right through to a 6 day supervision skills course and anything else in between. We train after work, in the evenings and at weekends, where required, in your surroundings if you prefer. A full days training can be split into 2 consecutive half days if that better supports service delivery. We especially enjoy working long term with clients, undertaking a training needs analysis, then designing, delivering and evaluating our safeguarding solutions. This long term relationship develops trust, helps us to really understand how the organisation works and is very cost effective. Who We Work With We work in partnership with the NSPCC, Barnardos and Kidscape. We have had the pleasure to train colleagues working in GP practices, dental surgeries, housing associations, Social Workers, charities, health authorities, schools, nurseries, tourist attractions, counsellors and residential homes, university students and the Police.

Patrick Joseph McKinney was born in Birmingham on 30 April 1954, the eldest son of Patrick and Bridget McKinney, originally from Ireland. His family moved to Buncrana, County Donegal, Ireland, when he was still very young, but eventually returned to Birmingham. Patrick began his studies for the priesthood at St Mary’s College, Oscott, in 1972, and was ordained to the priesthood on 29 July 1978 in St Mary’s Church, Buncrana. After his Ordination, Father McKinney was appointed assistant priest in the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes, Yardley Wood, Birmingham, and chaplain to St Thomas Aquinas Secondary School, Kings Norton, Birmingham. Between 1982 and 1984, he was a student at the Pontifical Gregorian University, where he gained a Licentiate in Sacred Theology.

We are House of Pain Academy, one of the most highly regarded professional wrestling academies in the UK. Through our supportive family atmosphere we aim to help everyone with an interest in becoming a Professional Wrestler, the opportunity to do so within a safe and comfortable environment. We are uniquely able to prepare you for a career within British Wrestling, with our excellent and established links to touring companies and regional promotions around the UK. The House of Pain ethos is that you will be supported in your wrestling training journey, and whether you would like professional wrestling to be your career in the future, or whether you’re looking for a new hobby, your training will be treated with the same respect and care. We think the Academy offers the perfect blend of a fun environment, and a serious training facility. Its down to the individual as to how they use the opportunities we will make available to them. We are based in Snienton, Nottingham, close to the city centre and with good transport links from other parts of the UK, being close to the M1, Nottingham Railway Station and East Midlands Airport. We run a full time facility, which currently hosts daily classes, 7 days a week, and at least 6 professional shows per month around Nottinghamshire. We hold regular monthly open days for prospective new students to try out Professional Wrestling at the same, in a welcoming environment where they can all learn the first steps together, guided by our trainers and senior members of the academy, after which they are welcome to join in with any of our beginners level classes.
