Why I teach a 2-day Course: My original training in South Africa was over 12 weeks which covered Reiki 1 and 2 as well as acupressure and Qui Gong. It was through in-depth training, that I formed a richer understanding of energy and how it works. It gave me a deeper knowledge on the mind body connection as well as insight into myself and other people and situations in my life. I also believe the more practical experience you gain with like-minded people, set you up to be more confident as you begin your professional practice. Reiki can be life-transforming if you commit seriously to using what you learn. The more you connect with Reiki and the more skilled you become, the more amazed you will be at its powerful effects. ASSESSMENT CRITERIA As part of the Reiki Level II course, you will be required to submit case studies after the 2-day course. The details of how to complete your case studies be given during the course. Once these have been submitted, you will be qualified to Level II and receive your certificate. IPAF - Harness Awareness

The theory assessment provides delegates with the essential knowledge to select, monitor, manage and plan the correct use of Harnesses and lanyards for use in a MEWP. Delegates successfully completing the e-learning will: Have an awareness of how to correctly identify and select the appropriate form of personal protection against falls from MEWPs. Have a theoretical awareness only of how to check, use, maintain and store a harness and lanyard with manufacturer’s instructions. Have a theoretical awareness of how harnesses and lanyards should be fitted and adjusted.
A single day knife making course is a great way to make yourself an item that will last a lifetime, on this one day course we forge a small knife with a simple ash handle. A knife is one of the oldest tools ever made by humanity and it is one that invokes many emotions to people when they see and use it for a productive task. When doing a knife making course here at Bearded Pig Forge we will discuss the fine details of a knife and how they are made as well as the history of forging them. On the course you will learn the basics of forging a blade and heat treating them in order to get the best results from the high carbon steel, we will also be learning how to fit and shape handles by using a burn through technique to attach the blade to the handle. Courses are £160 Per person per day. I run a strict cancellation policy. The RYA Coastal Skipper course is for sailors who want to go a little further afield. We will teach you advanced skippering techniques, including preparation for sea, pilotage, yacht handling under power and sail, and delegating duties to the crew. The course also includes emergency situations such as recovering a man overboard under power and sail. There will be plenty of practice in the harbour, learning to manoeuvre the boat in smaller places and mooring in a variety of conditions. We will practice blind navigation, so that if you are in heavy weather or fog you will make it to the nearest harbour safely. It is recommended that the coastal skipper theory course is completed prior to the practical course - however, there is the option to self-study. You also have to have logged 300 NM over 15 days at sea (including two as a skipper) and eight night sail hours. The course runs over five days and nights. You will be living on one of our fully coded yachts with up to four other crew members and your Yachtmaster Instructor. Your food is included in the cost, as is overnight stays in harbours. To add to the experience of gaining your RYA Coastal Skipper, you will get the benefit of continuing your sailing experience on the west coast of Scotland.
