Welcome to our website where I hope that you enjoy it and find what you are looking for. I am honoured and privileged to be the Head Teacher of Newbattle High School. I am proud to be leading such a great school where our vision and values are centred on supporting all young people to exceed beyond their potential. Based within our Community Campus, working together for better outcomes is a priority and I see this every day in action where we know, and are proud of, our students. All students are strongly encouraged to stay on until the end of S6 with correct courses to suit every young adult. Enhancing quality of life and employability for people with mental health needs.Action Mental Health (AMH) actively promotes the mental health and well-being of people in Northern Ireland. Action Mental Health grew from humble beginnings in Downpatrick in 1963 when it was known as the Industrial Therapy Organisation. Back then it was tucked away out of sight, in tune with the stigmas of the day. Today however, AMH has emerged as the standard bearer within Northern Ireland’s Third Sector – helping to smash the stigma of mental illness for all sections of the community. Action Mental Health is multi-faceted, offering myriad services. Integral to the organisation is its nine New Horizons services, dotted across Northern Ireland – north, south, east and west, where clients benefit from a variety of personal development, vocational skills and employability training options including accredited qualifications and work placements. A variety of resilience-building techniques are also pivotal to our range of services delivered to school children and young people in further and higher education. Services provided also include a full range of therapeutic counselling for children, young people, adults, families including services for the deaf community. The charity also offers a whole gamut of services for young and old alike, designed to promote mental well-being for those in work and currently unemployed; those affected by chronic pain or debilitating long-term illnesses; people living with eating disorders and also a dedicated service in Bangor for people with learning disabilities.

I ventured on the road to self-awareness and spiritual awakening at the young age of 18, sparked by a telepathic dreaming experience. This pivotal moment in 1994 led me to question my sole purpose in life and on to the transformative path of self-healing. This was my initiation into the practice of Reiki-Ho, that led me to take Reiki Shoden – Reiki Level I. Reiki has helped me overcome personal life challenges such as eating disorders, anxiety, a lack of energy and depression. This spiritual practice has been the pillar of my emotional well-being, opening the gate into self-discovery, personal growth and reaching a sense of empowerment, thus guiding me to awaken my inner healer. During my travels across India in 2017, I explored the healing power of crystals, yoga and meditation. I have adopted these modalities as pillars to complement my Reiki practice, bringing a holistic approach to my overall well-being.

My jewellery is inspired by the natural world. The landscape in particular has a strong influence on the concept of my designs, but psychologically and emotionally it is the ancient world of Talismanic potency that inhabits the finished pieces.’ Design is the pivotal dictate of Lucy Copleston’s work, and imagination the essence. Her sketchbooks are used to ‘think’ on paper and her designs are further developed and refined through prototypes. Landscape has always contributed to her vision through an awareness of land mass balanced against sky, the perspective of diminishing roads and the sculptural statement of trees. Her mother Jean Royle and her grandfather Stanley Royle contributed greatly to this awareness, as both were landscape painters: www.jean-royle.com. and www.stanleyroyle.com The flowing linear decoration, a signature of Lucy’s style, draws inspiration from her early childhood experience of living beside a small river in rural Suffolk, and the familiar sight of shallow water rippling over pebbles in sunlight. She views jewellery as a magical element, imbued with an enduring energy reaching beyond this life, as did people of the ancient world. Her formal training began in 1962 at Mansfield College of Art, Nottinghamshire. Then in 1964 – 67 she studied for a BA in 3-dimensional design at Loughborough College of Art and Design, Leicestershire. In 1967 she furthered her studies at the Royal College of Art, London, specialising in silversmithing and graduating with an MA in 1970. Producing one-off commissioned pieces, limited editions and repeatable ranges of jewellery forms the majority of her work, alongside teaching jewellery making at her workshop on a one-to-one basis. She lives in the very beautiful Vale of Clwyd in North Wales, surrounded by an inspiring landscape, with expansive views of the Clwydian hills. Stockists:
