bracknell business improvement district (bid)

Businesses in the Southern and Western areas of Bracknell voted in favour of plans to set up a Business Improvement District (BID) to run from 1st April 2020 – 31st March 2025. The positive ballot result follows 18 months of planning, in-depth interviews, surveys and workshops and a month-long ballot in which businesses in the area were asked to vote on the proposals. 63% of votes cast voted in favour of the BID by total number of businesses, and 88% of votes cast voted in favour of the BID by Rateable Value. As a result of the yes vote, the Bracknell Business Improvement District (BID) started on 1st April 2020. Businesses with a rateable value of £12,001 or above will pay a levy based upon their rateable value, creating a collective fund of more than £3 million to spend over the next five years. The plans were driven by a steering group of business representatives from across the area, who have now formed the Bracknell Investment Group Ltd. This is the company that will manage the BID. Bracknell BID is governed by a board of directors of the Bracknell Investment Group. The BID Board consists of representatives from all sectors within the BID area to ensure balanced representation. Directors are volunteers from businesses and partner organisations who give up their time for free. They are supported by Partnerships for Better Business Ltd, who develop and deliver Business Improvement Districts across the country.

Pass Move Grin was founded with one coach and one player and has grown to run different centres with some excellent coaches joining our staff. PMG is an award winning company that works with over 150 players per week. We currently run three sessions a week, working with players from 4-18years old, some of which have previously travelled from Leicester, Derby, and Lincoln due to our values, reputation, and quality training. Our coaches, some of which are the highest qualified in Nottingham, buy into our philosophy of developing people first and foremost, are all DBS certified, first aid trained and up to date with safeguarding procedures. PMG understand that to be a good footballer you must be respectful, disciplined, hard working with a positive mentality, as well as technically proficient, tactically aware, and socially good. We work across all these areas in a holistic manner. We consider football to be a journey, where parents, players and coaches must work together. Players that show the right attitude and determination are offered trials at professional and semi-professional clubs, representing team PMG who travel to opposition academies to play games. From here players can be scouted which can be the start of their academy journey, as it has been for over 54 PMG players so far. Further to this what makes PMG stand out is the quality we deliver when coaching. PMGs training is based around game understanding and intelligence, which help speed up development by putting the players in game realistic situations. We ensure that all players feel included in the sessions and differentiate objectives to ensure appropriate learning for all.

Love Early Years (originally Ci2eye) is the mission statement of Christian Initiatives in Early Years Education, which is a UK based charity for those working in early years provision. It seeks to inspire, encourage and develop this important work from a Christian perspective. Ci2eye was set up by Ruth Andrews, a qualified early years teacher, who has a passion for seeing young children touched by the love of God. Ruth set about responding to a two-part vision. Firstly she led her local church in opening a pre-school to reach the young children in their community with a practical, real demonstration of the love of God. Secondly, she saw this initiative being transferred nationwide, encouraging Christians to grasp the opportunity to show the love of God in action amongst families with young children. Fulfilling the first part of the vision, Samuels Christian Nursery opened its doors in 1990, and it has gone on to be an example in the neighbourhood of high-quality care for young children. Ten years later, the second part of the vision began to emerge. After encouragement and support from a range of Christian organisations, Ci2eye was launched in 2003 at a joint conference with Care for Education . Ci2eye celebrated its 10th birthday in 2013 with a Celebration in which colleagues from Europe and the United States took part. In 2016 it was decided to refer to our ministry as Love Early Years rather than Ci2eye, because it refers to what we do rather than being an obscure acrostic.
