About Solent Boat Training - RYA Advanced Training Centre Solent Boat Training (SBT) in Southampton is a truly national training centre based in the famous English Solent with 20 years experience in delivering low student ratio training courses. We have students travelling from all over the UK and Europe to train with our approved RYA, HSE & MCA instructors. All the courses found on this website are run by our own instructors at our own training centre, we do not farm out courses to other centres. This is due to our amazing resources including our boat fleet, classrooms and instructor team whom the vast majority are full time staff. We are not a one man and a boat operation, unlike many other centres. We now have boats based in Southampton & Lymington. We offer courses & events all over the Solent. We specialise in low student/instructor ratio training at amazing pricing because we own our own fleet. With 15 assorted yachts, motorboats & ribs we have the complete flexibility to run courses for private individuals, companies and organisations. We offer training for all, from an absolute beginner to a Yachtmaster Ocean skipper. We also work alongside and are the training provider for Solent Boat Charters a large local sailing events company. We have 6 classrooms and a training workshop all within the marina together with free accommodation included with all sailing courses means your training will be to the highest standard. We offer RYA courses and own boat tuition all around the Solent including Southampton, Yarmouth, Hamble, Lymington & Cowes. RYA Powerboat Courses Inc Level 2 & ICC We run the RYA powerboat level 2 courses throughout the year on our own fleet of 6m training ribs with Intermediate courses run on either of our 7.2m XSribs from our base in Southampton. OUR STORY Hello, we are Elane and Sarah, Co-Founders of I AM in print. We’ve known each other since our first day of secondary school – when Sarah was forced to sit next to Elane and hasn’t been able to get rid of her since. Keen life explorers we’ve shared numerous adventures, including backpacking around Australia, driving from Las Vegas to San Francisco and getting lost in Hong Kong. Despite often living in different continents we have always managed to meet halfway and have run up many a phone bill. In 2014 we set ourselves the challenge to co-write a book and have spent many hours developing plots and characters. On our route to discover how to get published we came across the idea for I AM in print; a community to unite all writers, published and unpublished, and enhance the lines of communication with agents and publishers. We’d love you to join our global writing circle . . . let’s explore the crazy world of writing, together.

Priya is the one to come to if you want to stay strong in pregnancy or need fixing after baby. She has worked with over 1000 pre/postnatal ladies and with a very high level of training you can be sure you are in safe hands. If Priya doesn’t know the answer she will know someone who can help. Our classes are small and focus on a mixture of using your core correctly, building strength in those areas you really need it for mummyhood, releasing tight muscles and Pilates movements that will really make a difference.

Marina started the Marina School of Dance in Whitchurch in October 2009 after graduating from the Royal Academy of Dance. The school started with just Ballet and quickly added ISTD Tap and Modern classes into the timetable. We currently have a massive range of classes including Acrobatic Arts, Street Dance, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and most recently Latin. Our team of teachers is constantly growing and all our teachers are encouraged to continually update their knowledge and training in order to give our students the best quality lessons. Marina and the team are members of many teaching organisations in order make sure that all lessons are the most current and up to date syllabus, this also means we can enter students for exams if they wish. Marina School of Dance follows the Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Syllabus, the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Tap, Modern and Contemporary Syllabus and The Acrobatic Arts syllabus. After searching for a ‘home’ for many years we moved into our new studio in Overton in September 2020, whilst still continuing with our Whitchurch classes to be able to provide lots of options for local families. The new studio means we can offer a huge variety of classes and really make the most of the beautiful facilities. With shows, exams and performances every year there is always something exciting to look forward to. New pupils are always welcome, with or without any experience. We pride ourselves on including and providing opportunities for every single child. All children are encouraged to do their best and to work hard, whilst still having an amazing time and making lots of friends. We are very lucky to have wonderful students and families who are very supportive of the school, making us one big happy dance family. In 2014 we set ourselves the challenge to co-write a book and spent many hours developing plots and characters.  The idea for I Am In Print bumped into us in 2018; we wanted a community to unite all writers, published and unpublished, and increase access to top agents and publishers. Broadcasts came first. Then we became the first to host online feedback sessions. We call them #Agent121 - an opportunity to meet an agent onscreen for advice on your submission package. In-person events began, then online publishing and writing days. And in 2022 we became Directors of our own I Am Writing Festival. We loved meeting members of the writing community at the festival in Winchester 2022 and in Bristol 2023.  Wherever you are on your writing journey, we would love to see you at one of events soon.
