GYMD Leaders Retreat @ High Leigh

Come Away on a Leaders Retreat Designed for leaders in children's, youth, young adult, and student ministries to step away from the demands of daily workload, this retreat will be focused on finding space for renewal alongside others in leadership roles. Together, we will spend time reflecting on personal spiritual practices rooted in rest. Recognising that so much of ministry is about giving outwardly, this retreat offers an opportunity to look inward and upward—to refocus on God and explore how we can each individually pursue Him more deeply. In the tranquil grounds of the High Leigh retreat centre, the day will be a mix of restful, reflective practices, time to socialise and have fellowship, and workshops for delving into our own spiritual practices, seeking to build up on what already exists. We hope this retreat might be an extension of our regular lunch gatherings, fostering connection and mutual support within our ministry community. Key Information: There are 2 options for this retreat: the overnight retreat, and the day away retreat. The Overnight Retreat: Sometimes a night away does wonders for our sleep patterns! Join us at High Leigh from 5pm on Wednesday the 19th of March. We will have dinner together, share in some evening reflection and games. The following morning will include opportunities for prayer, reflection, and breakfast before we are joined by the day guests. The Day Away Retreat: To take time away from our contexts can be a great way to invest in our ministry. Join us at High Leigh from 9.30am on Thursday the 20th of March. The day's programme will include time for reflection, prayer, fellowship and workshops on spiritual practices. We will share lunch together, and be ready to head home at 4pm. Cancellations: Please note this retreat is fully funded and spaces are limited. If you cancel your booking with less than 4 weeks notice we may charge you if your place is not refilled.

The Angel Circus At the beginning of 2012, we converted our offices into a Circus so that our surroundings could reflect the personality and innovation that takes place within the company. Why a circus? Because the circus is a place where talented performers train hard and work to entertain and thrill their audience. In the same way, we want to wow people with our software, customer service and support. We love seeing visitors’ faces when they come to meet Team Angel at our circus. There’s a Big Top and gypsy caravan for creative meetings, a grandstand (complete with ball pool) for presentations, a full-wall blackboard for ideas and inspiration, plus fairground mirrors, a popcorn machine and plenty of other circus curiosities for fun. Most of our staff have even learnt to juggle! And really, it’s our staff who reflect the Angel Solutions DNA more than any props ever could. How We Encourage Creativity… Beyond the circus, creativity and innovation is central to how we work. We give staff plenty of opportunities to promote and showcase their talents, whether work-related or not, and place a high value on ongoing learning. Most importantly, we always strive to celebrate effort and creative thinking in our team, just as much as we celebrate their successes. For example, our staff might… Introduce a new work process to try to save time Trial a new technology inside one of our products Teach a skill or share an idea at a lunchtime smorgasbord session Work with a totally different team on an innovation day Run a staff training session to share their knowledge Do an online course to learn something new No matter how busy we are, it’s important to us to carve out precious time like this. We hold Innovation Days every month and encourage as many people as possible to pause what they’re working on to take part. During that time, teams can mix up and people have an opportunity to work on whatever they want! At the show and tell sessions at the end of these days, presentations are always met with the sound of applause and cheering, whether or not they worked out! Fixation Performing Arts Academy is run by Academy Directors Laura Davitt & Carly Pryke. Fixation was founded in 2012 by Laura Davitt, who created an artistic company of trained performing arts professionals and youth workers to create opportunities for young people and adults to participate in the performing arts and develop new skills in a safe and collaborative environment. In 2014 now Academy Director Carly joined the team that Laura had created and together with over 30 years of combined teaching and performing experience, they formed what we now know as Fixation Academy of Performing Arts. Fixation Academy is a welcoming place for all to flourish, learn and grow. Our team of professionals use their extensive knowledge of the performance industry to provide quality training in disciplines acting, singing, dance, drama and musical theatre for ages 4-18 and adults. Our aim for each person that comes through our doors is to have fun, build confidence, make new friends, learn new skills and express themselves through the arts. Whether you see the performing arts as a fun hobby or potential career path, Fixation Academy is a place for students to discover and shine. We aim to give each child the skills and training necessary to turn their own dreams into a reality. At our Academy students benefit from weekly term time classes that work towards annual full-scale productions, in house shows and other public performances such as community festivals and competitions throughout the year. Fixation Academy of Performing Arts also gives students the opportunity to progress through their exam grades with LAMDA and the Royal Academy of Dance.
