As a thriving and developing charity and social enterprise, we’re here to help those who’ve been bereaved, suffered loss or experienced separation. We’re proud of our services and our partnerships with local authorities, the NHS, schools, local businesses and the trusts and foundations that help fund our work. We’re equally proud of the staff and volunteers who help us deliver high quality therapy and support. The future development of Listening Ear depends on us maintaining and expanding these links, as well as on the support and donations we receive from individuals like you. Mindset is Listening Ear’s new training and professional services delivery arm. Any surplus generated through Mindset is used to support the charity’s wider purpose. Professional Training Our new Diploma in Children and Young People’s Counselling launches in 2021. Find out more here. Listening Ear delivers high-quality training courses to a wide-range of professionals including Teachers, Foster Carers, Social Workers, Hospice Staff, GPs and others. In particular we are experienced in providing bespoke training solutions following Ofsted/ CQC reports. We recognise that the route to service improvement can feel daunting but Mindset offers tailored solutions for staff, trustees, governors and volunteers to address areas where organisations need additional support. About Sound Matters was founded in 2014, following a series of conversations between Mike Edwards (climate change and sustainability expert) and Harry Coade (music producer and soundscape recordist). These conversations, which took place in London pubs, cafes and galleries, were focused on how sound and listening could be used to create more sustainable and resilient futures. Mike and Harry discovered a unique and deep synergy between their disparate areas of expertise and began to further explore how they could apply this knowledge and insight. After delivering a series of lectures at leading universities in London, Mike and Harry began working on a number of global research initiatives, and academic courses, which were designed to discover more about how sound and listening could be used to understand the political, social, economic and environmental systems shaping the world. They also began working with a number of corporate clients who were looking for new ways of engaging their staff and stakeholders with the importance of creating business practices which were sustainable for both people and planet. From humble beginnings, Sound Matters has grown into an organisation which is widely acknowledged as a global leader in the use of sound and the art of listening to help individuals and organisations understand, and help solve, the most fundamental challenges facing the world. Sound Matters has a clear mission which is to create a universal culture of listening whereby every individual and organisation can access the power of sound and listening to create a better world.

Social Plugger was formed in 2019 as a direct response to the increasing shortcomings of the social care system. Coming from a background in music and charity work, founder Jae Kaae started experimenting with ways in which music could be utilised to support those with chronic health conditions. After observing first-hand the uplifting effect music had on his grandfather while battling the confusion of dementia, Jae began consulting with musicians, therapists and healthcare professionals to create digital wellness products that could effectively support those in similar situations. When the Covid-19 pandemic brought the stressors of isolation, loneliness and uncertainty into every home in Britain, we worked tirelessly to support those who needed help maintaining their mental health. Throughout the lockdowns, Social Plugger provided music therapy listening sessions to help people cope with anxiety and insomnia, and to maintain their general personal wellbeing.
