There will be demonstrations of knitting and needle felting techniques, advice on fillings for soft sculpture, and a discussion on combining plaster to textiles.&nbsp; The class also includes a worksheet and PowerPoint presentation showing to inspire further ideas after the session.

All levels of ability are welcome.&nbsp; The workshop is aimed at anyone with an interest in textiles or mixed media sculpture, wishing to explore the artistic potential of knitting.&nbsp; The emphasis is on creating experimental samples, rather than a finished piece.

Materials and equipment: -

<li>&nbsp;Knitting needles or crochet hooks, ideally to match the size of the yarn; plus double pointed knitting needles if you have them.</li>
<li>Yarn, any conventional knitting yarn, although thicker yarns such as 4ply, DK, Arun, Chunky and Super Chunky, would work best.&nbsp; Also string, jute or garden twine, and felting yarns if you have them.</li>
<li>Scissors, for cutting threads</li>
<li>Internet access, with a microphone and webcam.&nbsp; Please only book is you are able to attend in real time.</li>

Knitted Sculpture is an experimental workshop focusing on making three dimensional pieces using simple techniques.

Knitted Sculpture

This kit and tutorials cover the equivalent of a 2 day workshop and will get you from beginner knitting skills (casting on, knit, pearl, casting off) to a confident intermediate level. You will explore a variety of more complex and decorative stitches as well as looking at more complex patterns for projects. You can then move onto altering patterns, converting patterns and designing and writing your own! You can even email to ask questions and get some more help.Please allow 7-10 days for your kit. Once your kit is on the way you will receive a link for your tutorials.I'm always available in between to help and answer questions.
