Who Are We? reSEND is an independent advisory service for families who have children or young people with special education needs and disabilities. What Do We Do? We offer impartial, confidential and accurate information, advice, training and support for parents, carers, young people and children regarding Special Educational Needs or Disabilities. This includes information concerning Education, Health and Social Care services. We support parents, carers, young people and children and empower them to express their views and wishes and help them to understand and exercise their rights in SEND processes such as the Education, Health and Care Plan process. We liaise closely with schools, the local authorities, the voluntary sector and other relevant agencies including education, health and social care. We work closely with a number of charities to offer further support and training to families. Between 2015 and 2018 she had been working as an Independent Support Practitioner in Hertfordshire. The Independent Support service was established to support parents and young people through the SEND reforms that began in 2014. Independent Support Practitioners supported parents through the process of transferring Statements of SEN into the new Education, Health and Care Plans, as well as supporting those applying for the EHCP for the first time. This remit was then expanded to include support during the Annual Review Process of the EHCPs. During this time Liz personally supported over 300 families on a one to one basis and gave information and support in group environments to over 600 parents and young people. When this service closed in 2018 Liz continued to provide this support and expanded her remit further in a self-employed, independent capacity. It soon became very clear that this service was still in high demand and Liz decided to set up a company so she could increase the number of families that she and her team could support. Thus reSEND was born. Since then they have supported hundreds of families with EHCP's and other Educational issues. The team has continued to expand and 2022 saw the launch of the Tribunal Support service enabling reSEND to further support and empower families all over England. “Thank you so much for all your help and support with our families this year. Therefore, our prices are pitched as low as possible to ensure that our service is affordable to the majority of parents and professionals. While our prices may be well below those of other companies, the quality of our work is second to none. All staff have received training in the EHCP process with many holding IPSEA Qualifications and/or Legal qualifications. The Company has ambitious plans for the future which include expansion and the ability to offer a Pro Bono service in the future. There is also plans to convert the company into a Community Interest Company (CIC) to ensure that all profits return into the business to continue to provide Justice and Support for All.

Dunstable Training & Tuition provides Maths and English tuition for Primary to GCSE level pupils at an affordable rate. We also offer IT Training for All Ages. We offer a range of tuition packages at a discounted rate and we also run Pay As You Go lessons at £20 an hour. We have a modern, air conditioned teaching room which includes several laptops and hard-wired networked PCs. As a learning centre, we pride ourselves on our small groups of pupils (no more than 5 pupils at a time per teacher) with an emphasis placed on written work. We also offer One-to-One tuition on an appointment basis. Assessment feedback is given on a regular basis both to pupils and parents alike. Our teachers are PGCE Secondary qualified and have Masters degrees in their respective fields. When you first arrive at the Centre, your child will be offered an assessment so that we can correctly determine their learning requirements and to tailor their lessons. ASCEND opened its doors in August 1996 at All Saints’ Church Centre, South Oxhey. It was founded by a small group of local people lead by the Rev. Ann Douglas, to counteract the problems on the estate. As ASCEND became established, it took over the running of a homeless project for young people aged 16 to 25, also based at the church. The homeless work continues today through Herts Young Homeless.
