Immerse Medical are experienced at teaching first aid to young people within the educational sector. We have designed this workshop style programme specifically for those in KS3/4. The sessions are fun, engaging and focus on fundamental life saving skills. Using interactive gamification, students gain hands on experience, which they will draw upon in real life medical emergencies. These sessions are perfect as part of phase 2 of National Citizenship Service (NCS) and Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Awards. Key points Meets national curriculum secondary education guidelines– We’ve designed this programme to exceed the requirements of the 2020 guidelines. Training by doctors, nurses and paramedics – We have years of experience working on the front line of emergency medicine; giving us real world knowledge and skills in managing injured or unwell people. More than first aid – While participating in this workshop young people will also develop their ability to work as part of team, communicate effectively and think critically in high pressure situations leading to an overall increase in personal confidence. Immerse Training is a fully regulated First Aid Training Provider. We love working in schools, nurseries and youth groups teaching young people how to keep each other safe and what to do if something goes wrong. With sessions sessions from 1 hour tasters for every class in a school, to after school first aid clubs, Immerse Training are certain to design a programme that’s right for you, your budget and your children.   We currently deliver First Aid and Life-Saving skills across a variety of settings to groups of children and young people from 4 to 14 years old, when they are able to participate in accredited First Aid courses. All of our First Aid Training for Children courses are designed in collaboration with qualified childcare practitioners and child health clinicians. Our programmes can be tailored to meet any area of the curriculum from Early Years Foundation Stage through to Key Stage 3. Hi, I’m Ondine a dog walker and trainer based in the Rhondda Valley. I have been training dogs since I was 8 years old when I finally persuaded my parents to allow me to get my first dog, Sam an incredibly naughty Border Terrier, Jack Russel cross. My life has led me to love and train all types of dogs from German Shepherds to Cayman Islands street dogs like Rosa. I have trained dogs to fight crime with the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service and have interned with the Miami Dade Police Department K9 Unit. I have also been lucky enough to train Flyball with the wonderful Pam Martin and the Top Dog Flyball Team as well as be coached by the Canadian Flyball champions and world record holders, Team Spring Loaded Flyball. All of this experience and fun has led me to be a firm believer that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. Endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care – The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and fulfilling the competencies set out in the PHEM skills framework at descriptor level D, this fantastic qualification is perfect for a range of roles in emergency care, such as: Ambulance Care Assistant (PTS), Community First Responder or Event First Responder and more. Learners must be at least 17 years old on the first day of training. There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or equivalent and a basic understanding of first aid. This qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide prehospital care to patients requiring emergency care/treatment. It is ideal for those looking to progress their careers within the emergency services, ambulance services, healthcare settings and supports specialist medical roles within law enforcement and security, energy and utilities, construction and military.
