We started in 2007, in order to offer a more flexible and cost-effective alternative to existing CIPD courses. Our founder Julie Cook (a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, with a background in HR management) had worked for the CIPD in a role managing the business school and local college. She noticed that a large portion of student fees were allocated to college overheads and central student services, such as empty buildings and long college holidays. This inspired her to set up Acacia Learning, whose model was to hire tutors and rooms only when needed, and provide many more study options, in order to better serve those with busy work schedules and lives. Since then Acacia has grown significantly. We now offer 100% online Business Management qualifications, such as PRINCE2® project management qualifications. What's more, we add new study options, locations and major clients every year.
