A Psychology-led day retreat for parents and carers of children with learning disabilities and/or Autism in the beautiful Wye Valley. 9th October 2024 at Forest Retreats, Tintern, Monmouthshire, Wales.

The half-day glass fusing course is designed to give total beginners an introduction to a new skill...and have some fun! At the end of the 3hrs, you will have created 4 coasters (10cm x 10cm) or fused glass wave (20cm). I keep the glass fusing classes small, to make sure it's easy to give everyone as much input as is required. There is a 2m gap between all work-stations, to help maintain social distancing. We also provide visors (or you can wear your own mask), and there is lots & lots of hand sanitiser. All equipment & materials are disinfected before the start of each day. You don't need to bring any materials, as everything required to design & create the coasters or wave is provided. The only thing you need to wear are closed shoes (e.g. no sandals), and to bring some lunch. We can also arrange lunch at a small cost, if required. You'll start the day by creating a design - you can bring your own, or we can provide a design. You'll learn how to cut the glass & then build up your design which is then fired overnight. You will be able to collect your design the next day, or we can arrange to post it to you (you just need to cover the cost of the postage). Timings: 10am - 1pm Buying as a gift? Just select the most appropriate date and, if that turns out not to be suitable, the recipient can simply reschedule over the phone or by email (we just need 2 weeks' notice).

the stained glass summer class at rainbow glass studios August 7th - 11th 2023 is designed to teach all the traditional techniques needed to make a large stained glass panel. This class is for all abilities and is carried out in a well equipt studio in London.

Paint Some Pottery With Your Friends! These adult-only painting sessions run every month 6.30-9. 30pm. Pay for your chosen seat/table inc studio fee, welcome drink, half a large pizza, salad and coleslaw, dessert, coffee & mints. Select an item of pottery to paint on the night (sold seperately) and enjoy your evening. Our studio team will be on hand to offer advice, tips and suggestions on techniques that may help you where you want it. These evenings are relaxed and friendly and the ideal opportunity to have some fun in a creative atmosphere! 😁 Please note once painted your pottery will be glazed & fired and ready for collection 7-10 days later. You are welcome to BYOB on the night (glasses and ice provided at no extra charge). If you have a big appetite & would like a full Pizza please add this on at checkout. Craft workshop using a variety including glass cutting along with designing with dichroic glass elements to make sparkling glass jewellery. Fused Glass Workshop – Glitzy Glass Jewellery I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. This fused glass workshop is held at my Derbyshire studio and gallery space in the middle of Wirksworth, near Matlock. About this fused glass workshop Everyone loves sparkle and this workshop is perfect for making wearable art for yourself or to give as give away as gifts. After a brief introduction to how to work safely with glass, I will teach you the technique of cutting and layering sheet glass to produce your own unique creations. The process of cutting is a skill that takes time to develop but wonderful designs can be built from basic shapes. No experience necessary, just an understanding that you might not be “perfect” straight away. I’m told I make it look easy, but I’ve been doing it, almost daily, for 15 years! Produce a range of unique jewellery using specialist glass called Dichroic Glass, a rainbow of colours and a myriad of decorative inclusions, you will design and make jewellery pieces including pendants, earrings, cufflinks and brooches. Your creations will need to be fired, cleaned and finished by Stevie so will be ready in around three weeks. The materials cost will enable you to make at least 3 (maybe 4) pieces in the time, maybe more depending on your chosen designs and how quickly you work. If this is not possible and your cancellation has been more less than 21 days in advance of the event, a refund can be offered. If your cancellation has been made less than 21 days before the event and you can not transfer onto a future date, every effort will be made to fill your place, from further advertising and/or the reserves list. If your space can not be filled by another attendee and you are unable to arrange a replacement yourself unfortunately, no refund can be offered. In the unlikely event that Stevie has to cancel a class, you will be offered either a full refund or a transfer to another date. Join these fortnightly sessions and learn the principles of building with clay; using ‘Slab’ @Coi’ and fine modelling techniques to produce figurative work. This will include an exploration of clay thickness; consistency; strength; shrinkage and using supports. Clay costs included in the session, but should you wish your piece to be fired there will be a small additional charge.
