We run regular Emergency First Aid at Work public courses or we can bring our training to you. Includes free annual refresher video training. Ideal for low risk organisations.

The Emergency First Aid At Work course covers worst case scenarios and some of the more common minor injuries. It is aimed at those working in lower risk areas such as offices and shops. You will need to attend a full 7 hours of trining (breaks included) First Aid Training at Splat is relaxed and enjoyable. We aim to help you learn and support you to get what you need from the day. There are some practical and some multiple-choice assessments but our job is to ensure you have everything you need to pass these easily. Please note that First Aid can be quite physical, you will need to be able to kneel on the floor to perform CPR and Recovery Position. Please wear comfortable clothing you can move around in, and, if possible, please let us know ahead of time if there is anything we can do to help support you and your enjoyment of the day.

The QCF approved qualification came into effect on 1st October 2013, along with new guidance on assessing the needs of First Aid in your workplace. Your risk assessments of First Aid needs may well identify the need for Emergency First Aiders at Work (EFAW) either as an addition to your First Aiders (3-day), or where your Company activities are low risk. A lot of our Clients have requested this course as extra cover when working on construction sites or similar works covered by the Principal Contractors trained site first aiders and for smaller works. Aims To give a basic knowledge to help you deal with any Emergency First Aid at Work. Course Content • Responsibilities and reporting • Assessment of the situation • Basic hygiene in First Aid • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Resuscitation and AED (defib) • Heart attacks • Bleeding • Minor injuries • Choking • Shock • Seizures. Prerequisites None - The course is intended either as an introduction or as a refresher. Assessment Delegates will be required to pass a multiple-choice test at the end of the training. (In addition, the HSE strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of about 3 hours, although this is not mandatory). Certificate On successful completion of the course, all delegates will receive a certificate of attendance. Instructions We regret that we may not be able to accept people onto a course who are more than 30 minutes late due to contact hours and the content that would be missed. It is a requirement of our regulators, to check ID for all delegates attending our courses. Driving licence, passport, work ID badge or a debit / credit card are all acceptable means of ID. This accredited qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide help to people in a range of emergency first aid situations The certificate will last for 3 years

This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing adequate first aid training Typically, first aiders will hold a valid certificate in either First Aid at Work (FAW) or Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Our QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) - EFAW - training course is the one recommended for first aiders in a low risk workplace Having the correct first aid provision in the workplace is not just a legal requirement, it is incredibly important for the safety of all members of staff!
