Aldo J. Martinez, principal of AJM Advisory, has over thirty-five years of experience in financial markets regulation at the NYSE Euronext and in the securities industry. As, Vice President, Market Surveillance Division (MKS) in the Special Counsel, Trading Correspondence and Options Surveillance Department, he was responsible for MKS regulatory and legal matters including representation in trading investigations conducted by MKS involving federal securities laws and NYSE rules. He led the coordination in regulatory merger task force and special projects, such as regulatory merger of NYSE and NYSE Arca; developing a Divisional training program to provide staff with relevant knowledge including fraud, criminal activity such as customer "intrusion" cases and market making activities; and representing the NYSE Euronext by coordinating regulatory initiatives involving 36 U.S. and non-U.S. markets members in the Intermarket Surveillance Group (ISG). Aldo also evaluated evidence indicating whether markets were maintained in a fair and orderly manner and coordinated a Division-wide New Products Committee which assessed new trading products for impact on surveillance functions. He was responsible for conducting several Options surveillances of the NYSE Arca market, maintaining the MKS Business Continuity Plan and participated in the review of new issuer listing applications for qualification with NYSE and NYSE Arca company listing standards. While at the NYSE Euronext, Aldo held the position as Vice President (MKS) Market Trading Analysis II (MTAII) for 15 years and headed the department responsible for detection and investigation of insider trading, and market manipulation at the NYSE and other trading abuses. He instituted effective team approach to revitalize the NYSE Insider Trading Surveillance program after the insider trading scandals of the 1980s which led to the development of sophisticated, state of the art automated systems to detect trading violations in ever evolving market structure and increasing volume of trading. He proudly represented the NYSE in the ISG and his collaboration with ISG members led the evolution of the ISG into a truly international regulatory cooperative network of 36 exchanges and markets around the world. Aldo also developed and was responsible for the MKS Business Continuity Plan. Aldo Martinez's earlier years at the NYSE involved holding positions as Managing Director - MTAII; Director - Regulatory Quality Review (RQR) MKS Program - evaluated the MKS surveillance programs for effectiveness and efficiency and internal audit for regulatory processes; Attorney - Special Counsel (MKS and NYSE Enforcement Division) - represented and led the NYSE with over 18 successful disciplinary hearings involving market trading violations and cases involving violations of federal securities laws and NYSE rules. Aldo has 9 years of trading floor experience. He also served as assistant to the General Counsel at Spear Leeds & Kellogg where his duties extended to trading in NASDAQ stocks, options and futures clearing and investment banking as well as block proprietary trading and NYSE Floor trading. Throughout Aldo's career, he has given regulatory presentations to U.S. and non-U.S. government officials, dignitaries and market centers, participated in SEC international seminars and State panels and he has been interviewed by national and international print and broadcast media (e.g. CNN Espanol). We envision a world in which children with developmental disabilities are fully able to access the health and education services they need to achieve their full potential. Mission To change the lives of some of the world’s poorest people living with developmental disabilities, and the lives of their families, by improving access to and better quality of healthcare and education services and support. Aims The aim of MAITS is to improve the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable individuals living with disabilities by helping them to reach their full potential, be healthy and have an improved sense of well-being, through access to family support, quality healthcare and education. We do this through a team of trainers from all over the world, who are experienced professionals, and who give their time to provide capacity building, training and resources to those caring for and providing health and education services to individuals with disabilities in community or institutional settings. Our team We do this through a very small staff team, training consultants and a team of qualified volunteers from all over the world, who are experienced healthcare and education professionals. Our volunteers provide training and support to those caring for and providing health and education services to individuals with disabilities in community or institutional settings. We also have a small grants programme which enables training to take place in any location where there is a need globally. The aim is to enable individuals to reach their full potential, with improved health, well-being and quality of life through access to family support, quality healthcare and education. Overview We work with and help some of the most marginalised people globally –those with disabilities living in some of the poorest countries in the world. There are 150 million children living with a disability and of these the majority live in developing countries. Since 2011, we have provided training to 4675 staff working in the disability sector in 21 countries and helped over 600,000 individuals living with disabilities. The people we have trained include therapists, nurses, special educators, staff working in children’s homes and community health workers. Part of our work involves providing training at the grass roots level, to community health workers and care staff, on conditions such as cerebral palsy, autism and learning disabilities to enable early identification, referral to specialists where possible and the provision of home support to promote development and independence, using training packages and tools we have developed specifically. Some of our training can be life-saving, especially in the case of infants and children with feeding difficulties, which often leads to malnutrition, severe respiratory problems and early mortality. With the right training, these consequences can be dramatically reduced, improving the child’s quality of life and their life expectancy. MAITS’ specialists have developed and delivered training and resources for healthcare staff to address this issue, both in children and infants, the latter at the request of medical colleagues working on measures to prevent infant mortality. Our training also provides other innovative solutions to improving the lives of those with disabilities.

The Stained Glass Centre was established in 2008 by the recently-formed Stained Glass Trust, with the aim of providing an educational centre to encourage the study and appreciation of stained glass, as well as breathing life back into St Martin-cum-Gregory. This beautifully evocative Grade I listed building, which dates back to before the 11th century, is home to a rich range of historic glass, including some of the earliest logos to be seen in stained glass and memorials to celebrated glass-painters. Set in the city of York, home to much of Britain’s surviving ancient glass and a focus for craft and creativity in the modern day practice of stained glass making, The Stained Glass Centre provides a unique point of interpretation for the city, with demonstrations, workshops, guided tours and lectures. The Stained Glass Centre is developing as a national resource for the discovery and interpretation of stained glass. The building has long been a destination for those interested in this fragile medium. As the Stained Glass Centre, it is transforming into a venue in which residents, students and visitors can explore, participate in and learn more about one of the most beguiling of crafts, one that continues to be central to the heritage, culture and economy of the city of York. Now that the future of the building has been secured for public use, a programme of events is bringing people and new life back into the building. Founding Aims The Stained Glass Centre was established with five long-term aims for its future role The Stained Glass Centre will be a national resource for the discovery and interpretation of stained glass. Visitors will be able to participate in, and learn about, craft-skills, arts and industries that continue to play a vital role in the life of the city and region. Practitioners from all over the UK will have a national centre of excellence for the study and development of their craft. People of all ages will have the opportunity to learn about the historic importance of this beautiful art form as well as helping it to develop and flourish for the 21st century. The creation of the Stained Glass Centre in the former church of St Martin-cum-Gregory will give new life to one of York’s most beautiful ‘lost’ buildings. Regeneration The establishment of the Stained Glass Centre within the former church of St Martin-cum-Gregory aims to give stunning new life to a magnificent building, with the exciting opportunity for regular public access to one of York’s most beautiful ‘lost’ buildings, and to see, and have interpreted, its lovely fittings and glass. Through the Centre, residents of central York can reclaim aspects of their own local history, participate in, and learn about, craft-skills, arts and industries which continue to play a vital role in the life of the city and region. The Stained Glass Centre also plays a key role in the re-awakening of Micklegate, which once was, and could be again, York’s most important and elegant street. The Centre works closely with the Micklegate Quarter, hosting and participating in events for the local community.

Many of our learners have not worked since leaving school or are non-attenders currently of school age. Self-esteem is often very low. By providing taster sessions within different areas of the building trade. This allows the learner to gain knowledge and the choice to concentrate within a particular field; they may ordinarily have not had the opportunity. We home in on their strengths and build on them. This leads in many cases gaining an apprenticeship, securing a college course or employment. Since our team were made redundant from Learning World in November 2012, we have made it our sole aim to keep the continuity we have successfully maintained over the years as training providers. We secured funding, from the Big Lottery, Young Start and Investing in Ideas. This has allowed us to buy equipment and resources to provide correct and current training for the learners within our centre. We managed to secure the premises with our Landlord before Leaning World closed their doors at the end of October 2012. This has provided us the start we need to carry forward our work within the East End of Glasgow and continue to build our relationships with other agencies, for example; Education Services; Activity Agreements Officers and Integrated Children’s Services, East End Regeneration, and more recently Forestry Commission Community Woodland Trust, to help provide a tangible Green Legacy, as well as the Youth Circus, as part of the Commonwealth Games. Our aim as a training provider is primarily based on passion not profit. Seeking to deliver a stepping stone for our learners who live within areas of high unemployment, deprivation, addiction and social exclusion. As well as, working with young people who have been excluded from school, and are being cared for away from the family home. Often this means we have to address the local gang culture, within Glasgow, South Lanarkshire and surrounding areas, as we bring together the Young People into training centre. Cambridge Cambridge is a prestigious centre of academia and a beautiful place to live and study. The world-famous University of Cambridge is over 800 years old, and has been home to some of the most respected authors, scientists, thinkers, and even royalty. The city boasts some of the country’s finest architecture, art galleries and museums, as well as a vibrant theatre scene. Running through it is the River Cam: colleges glimpsed from the banks of the Backs, students punting along the water, and rowers practicing at high speed, are all part of the Cambridge experience. A Brief History of Cambridge Before the University The Romans were first to build a town in Cambridge, although archaeologists have found evidence of habitation as far back as 1500BC. It was a convenient crossing point for the River Granta now known as the River Cam. Throughout Anglo-Saxon and Norman times, settlements tended to centre on what is now known as Castle Hill‚ for its fortification potential. William the Conqueror was the first to build a castle on the hill and his son, Henry 1st, gave the town its first charter. The oldest structure in Cambridge, St Bene’t’s Church, dates from the 11th Century. The University It was in 1209 that scholars, taking refuge from hostile townsmen in Oxford, settled in Cambridge. Students soon flocked to Cambridge, although in its early years, these were largely clerks or clergymen in holy orders of some sort. It was not until 1284 that the first Cambridge College (of which there are now 31), Peterhouse, was founded. Colleges sprang up in the centuries to follow‚ the result of benefactions from donors including King Henry VIII. The most famous structure in Cambridge – King’s College Chapel – was built by a succession of Kings, starting with Henry VI in 1446 and finishing with Henry VIII in 1515. Cambridge is the top-ranked University in the UK and has produced 118 Nobel laureates and 15 British Prime Ministers. Famous Scholars In 1627, a clergyman by the name of John Harvard entered Cambridge, before emigrating to America in 1638 and founding Harvard University. Numerous other influential scholars have passed through Cambridge: Sir Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Lord Byron and Lord Tennyson, several signatories of the American Declaration of Independence, Bertrand Russell, Ludwig Wittgenstein, F.R. Leavis, John Maynard Keynes, Crick & Watson, Sylvia Plath, Frederick Sanger, Ted Hughes and Stephen Hawking to name but a few! Transformational leadership is a leadership style that inspires and motivates followers to achieve extraordinary results. It is based on the idea that leaders can change the way their followers think and feel, which in turn can lead to changes in behaviour and performance. Transformational leaders are able to do this by providing a clear vision, inspiring their followers to share that vision, and providing the support and resources necessary to achieve it. They also create a positive and motivating work environment, where employees feel valued and respected. There are many benefits to transformational leadership. For businesses, it can lead to improved performance, higher productivity, and increased profits. It can also create a better place to work, where employees are more engaged and satisfied. One study* found that transformational leadership was associated with a 14% increase in employee productivity. Another study found that transformational leadership was associated with a 27% increase in employee satisfaction. My own experience is that increased productivity is not a once only event, but rather an annual increase. This comes from a Co-Creative leadership style. Transformational leadership is not without its challenges, however. It requires a high level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness on the part of the leader. It also requires a willingness to delegate and empower followers. Overall, transformational leadership is a powerful tool that can be used to improve the performance of businesses and the lives of employees. If you are looking to improve your business, consider adopting a transformational leadership style. Here are some tips for implementing transformational leadership in your business: CREATE A CLEAR VISION. The first step in transformational leadership is to create a clear vision for your business. This vision should be something that your employees can believe in and that they are willing to work towards. INSPIRE YOUR FOLLOWERS. Once you have a clear vision, you need to inspire your followers to share that vision.
